I've slept on featherbeds since 2000. I absolutely love the cushioning support and comfort provided by featherbeds. Unfortunately, this particular featherbed fails to provide said cushioning support and comfort. This model is simply too dense and heavy. It's also extra heavy so difficult to "fluff" and even with the extra effort the result is less than ideal due to the density. The best featherbed experience is when it is placed in a cover, placed above the bottom sheet, and fluffed regularly (daily in our case). This featherbed cannot be used in that way.

Wonderful feather topper! You feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. Very we'll made. My husband was so impressed after the first night of sleeping on it.

First, I use an extra firm mattress on a platform due to a damaged lower back. For the most part I am pleased with this topper however the one I got had a very strong odor requiring two days of fabric softener sheets and an industrial fan which helped but I know the feathers could be better deodorized by the manufacturer($). Some may complain about feathers sticking out. Do not buy a feather bed without buying a protector/encasement to "protect" your investment! You can forget feathers, spills, stains, bedbugs and the cost of dry cleaning your feather bed ($$). I prefer something that says hypoallergenic, made of Nanofiber which is soft and cool like cotton but waterproof like loud, hot vinyl. Consider what type of sleeper you are. Back, side, stomach, combo? I sleep on my side and stomach so my hips and shoulders are pressure points. Five inches of feathers does make a difference for me in this regard. Placement of the topper is another point. If you like a fluffier cloud experience put the topper above your fitted sheet (makes it easier when you shake the topper to redistribute the feathers). If you prefer a bit more firmness as I do, put the topper under your fitted sheet. I "fluff" this topper every three to seven days. I also tend to sleep hot and this feather topper did not increase my temperature like the foam topper I used to have. Point of reference, I returned a Tempur-pedic mattress before this current setup because it seemed better suited to back sleepers. For the price, I put up with the "foul" smell. There are others that don't have this odor but most cost hundreds more. I have since purchased three more of these for my loved ones. This topper DID stop me from sleeping on the futon couch every night. Returning this item is expensive so when my Brother didn't like his I gave it to someone who did. There are many options for bedding and I say don't give up searching because good sleep is SO important. What ever you decide, I hope you sleep in peace..

This topper does soften our terribly uncomfortable memory foam mattress, but the feathers! Oh goodness, the feathers... I have always had nice goose down pillows, but this is not that. The feathers stick out constantly and poke us! Now I am searching the internet for a cover for our feathertop! We do not have cheap sheets, so who I just don't understand how so few reviewers mentioned the pokey feathers.

After buying several toppers with uneven batting, we purchased this topper, it is even, stay on well over all it is a good topper, the only thing I don't like is the feathers flatten together, this does not effect the thickness of the topper, but makes it a little hard. so you need to regularly shake it out to loosen the feathers back up.

This feather bed smells like rotten eggs!!! It's very comfortable but the smells is so overwhelming I don't know how much longer I can take it... it's frustrating to know that I paid a lot of money for a smelly product that is very embarrassing! And you can smell it once you walk into my room! Not happy

Our mattress was quickly giving out. We were waking up sore and tired every morning. After sleeping very well on a hotel bed with a featherbed mattress topper, we decided to try one for our own bed. It was much less expensive than a new mattress so we figured, why not? It was one of the best investments we've made. We both sleep through the night in comfort and wake up refreshed each morning. My husband's hips no longer hurt and I can make it through the night without discomfort or tossing back and forth. The retailer was fantastic and the product was everything promised and more. We highly recommend this topper!

The featherbed mattress topper allows me to sleep all night undisturbed. I suffer from joint and bone pain which usually causes me to toss and turn hourly. This topper cushions my pressure points (hips, shoulders), giving me hours of undisturbed sleep. Only drawback is need to "fluff" heartily daily and flip twice a week to avoid compacting the feathers --- but my wife is very good at that!!Would definitely buy again. Have just ordered cover which has not yet arrived. Have not had any feathers penetrate, but do feel the spines through the fabric.
