I'd use a Stanley knife with either a metal ruler or piece of wood to score deeply or cut through, and finish off with strong scissors. May need to cut from both sides.

Q: Would this be any good as a backing for a cheap and cheerful outdoor dartboard, do you think?

Strikes me as a good thing to use for a dartboard backing - thick enough to take darts so they don't get damaged by hitting a wall, and hopefully strong enough to 'hold' darts. Need to order sufficient to surround the dart board, and I found I needed to add screws to hold the protectors in place, but they are good.

Q: Are these Strips suitable for external use on brick walls?

Our wall protector can be applied on any concrete, ceramic, sheetrock, metal and most of wall surface which is flat, clean and dry enough. We recommend our customers to use it indoor as the effects of sun exposure might affect the adhesiveness.

Q: Can this go on the back of furniture to prevent marking walls? Will it mark the walls?

Yes, sure can be marked on the back of the furniture, Protectors can be removed without leaving marks on the most of the surfaces (e.g. brick, tile, glass, or marble walls). But the removal on a brittle or lime wall pavement may need to do it with care because the adhesive is very strong.
