Pretty good hand guard, with two caveats
This is a pretty good hand guard, especially while Leather Specialties isn't taking orders. The segmented design of the velcro sections is handy for making it fit lots of different instruments without unsightly/uncomfortable creases. There are two minor issues:- The velcro should really be the other way around, so that it wraps around the underside of the lead pipe instead of around the top.- There doesn't appear to be a moisture barrier. While this is an issue, it's often overblown: just use a piece of plastic wrap underneath.

Hand Guard
Easy installation. Hand guard is as stated, genuine leather. Comfort improves the more I use my horn.

You get what you pay for
I ordered this particular hand guard because the description indicated it was "large" and should fit my Conn 8D. It arrived in a plain clear bag; no size or other info provided. Had to do some major 'surgery' on the item (including cutting off almost 25% of the material) to get it to fit at all. Hole provided for pinky brace was only 1/8-inch diameter. Finally got it to fit, but barely. It is not at all snug and brushes up against the thumb trigger. Better than nothing. Predict I will have to replace it soon.

Great quality, works as advertised
Fits my conn 8d very well. I will be doing some adjusting to the very top near the lead pipe. Leather is genuine and pretty great quality especially for 10 bucks. :)

Nice leather but did not fit my double horn
This was a nice leather, but it was too long and not wide enough to fit my double horn (Holton H179). The leather was too thick to fit under my thumb key, the opening for the hold was tiny (I did manage to get it over my hold finally) and it wasn't designed for horns where the lead pipe isn't welded onto the rest of the tubing (my lead pipe is spaced from the rest of the tubing) so I couldn't get it closed on the top or the bottom. It's probably great for a single horn or a horn where the thumb key is very far from the lead pipe tubing, and one in which the lead pipe is welded on to the rest of the tubing.

It works
But it does increase the finger extension slightly, not great for little hands.
