Great but...
Excellent resource to add to my library. VERY specific and practical help and ideas for coaching a dyslexic child. Not just information about the LD.This book was categorized as used but good condition yet had multiple pages throughout the book that had been drawn on by a child including the cover. Not illegible, but definitely wouldn’t categorize it as “good condition”.

I found this to be very helpful
I had found this book to be very helpful when my son was exhibiting signs of being right brained. Mrs.Vitale's book helped me so much to understand my very artistic 2nd grader. I even shared it with his teacher who realized, through reading this book, that many others in her class were right brained as well. And….. NOW…… my 40 year old son has his own son who at age six is already displaying some of the specificities of right brain children.

ADHD Advocate
This book was helpful in identifying the problem my grandson has. The book is very useful for young children who are in the first few grades of elementary school but less helpful for grades above fourth. The book seems to have been written for teachers in the lower grades of elementary school. There is some information applicable to higher grades and just being able to determine a learning problem made the book worthwhile to me.

Meh
Not lot of helpful meat. I felt like I was reading someone’s personal notes without a lot of great organization or thought about the reader. I got a couple good ideas but it felt like a blog by a mom, not a book written by a professional or expert. I was just hoping for more for the price.

Unicorns Are Real
This is a very good primer for the regular classroom teacher who may be wondering what she or he could do to help many students who don't fit the traditional mold in a classroom. It explains to me why some of my students behaved the way they did. It offers simple ways to help those students. I wish I had read this years ago.

Great Ideas to help Learners
My daughter has learning disabilities and this book has given me many more ideas on how to teach her different concepts. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I would like even more teaching examples and techniques.

Right brain learners
I was a little disappointed in the book. It has some great, quick ideas but to teach topics in a more kinesthetic and/or visual way. However, I found that it wasn't very unique to ideas I already had researched or used on my own. If you struggle in applying these principles our are new to right brain learning approach it would be a good buy.

Some practical things to try with young children
I enjoyed the book's hypothesis about right-brained children learning differently. I liked that the book had specific, practical approaches to help children learn. They seem to be aimed at 2-7 year olds (learn your colors) - not as appropriate for my 13 year old.
