THIS PURCHASE WAS A NO BRAINER...
Item arrived quickly and works as advertised. I got two of them to replace the factory gas caps for a Honda eu2000i & eu2000i companion generator. I'm using 3/8 in. fuel line, the Attwood OMC Fitting and Attwood Johnson/Evinrude/OMC Fuel Hose Fitting with the gas caps to build a quick connect extended run 6 gallon fuel system. Works like a charm...SURE... I could have done it on the cheap and just drilled out the factory gas caps, tapped some threads and put in any old brass fitting. But WHY do it on the cheap. A metal to metal connection seals better and wont strip easily like a plastic to metal connection. My set-up will last for decades.I sold the factory gas caps for 20 bucks each on ebay so these caps really only cost me 10 bucks... well worth the cost..WHY ARE YOU STILL READING REVIEWS... PUT IT IN YOUR CART AND BUY IT.

Very nice machine work highly recommend i
My wife loves this fuel cap we live off the grid in Alaska and use the Honda generator for charging batteries in the winter .we have the generator hooked up to a 6 gallon boat tank with quick connect fittings. This is much easier to fill than the generator tank also can be safely filled with the generator running. Only nit pick with it was the npt thread seemed cut a little too deep, nothing a little # 2 permatex on my fitting didn't take care of .

Great construction but requires accesories
This was a great idea but required hosing and fittings that were gas-proof. While it wasn't complicated to get what I needed it still required effort and two trips to two hardware stores.I believe for the price, this should come as a kit with hose and nipple/fittings or at least have options with various fittings hoses.I will update this review once I actually have a power-outtage that requires it's use.

This is an excellent piece. I bought it for my Generac 2000iX generator.. fits perfectly but I had trouble getting it working. NOT because of the product but because Generac don't use the cap for the fuel breather.. they have one in the air filter that needs to be plugged first before you can get this cap to work.

Totalled My Car
It's wonderful, but it totaled my car ! Put it on, attached the hose, and took the gas tank to the local Shell station. Filled it up, and discovered on the way home that with no shut-off valve, gasoline self-siphoned out and drained all over the rear compartment of my 2006 Toyota Highlander, then draining under the rear seats and saturating the carpeting. One little spark and I would have been a "Crispy Critter" ! Fortunately it was only 2 miles home, but two different auto cleaning/detailing companies could NOT get the odor out of the car, even after gutting the interior and removing all the carpeting and steam cleaning it. State Farm totaled the car. If you buy one of these - and they are VERY well machined, remember what happened to me. Install your own shut off value between this and the hose.

Overpriced
Not impressed, typical china quality, might be worth half what I paid for it. Gasket poorly cut, not worth paying extra for.

Great option if you need longer run times
Perfect, just perfect! The barb and hose to finish the project cost less than $10. After connecting the barb to the cap and the new hose to the barb, I just shoved the hose to the bottom of an old gas can through the spout, put a small hose on the other side of the gas can(this also acts as the vent for the genny) to blow into to get fuel into the fuel line (leave the cap of the genny slightly loose so you know when there is fuel in the hose) and presto, an extra 5 gallons. My 2000 ran for 4 days straight with just 1 refill. When I needed to refill I just unscrewed the cap on the gas can side, leaving the hose in the fuel and refilled the can. never stopped running.

Ok, but too easy to cross-thread..
Because it's stainless, it easily cuts the plastic threads on the generator....
