I like the form factor of these, and they are bright. With that said, the copper wire within included power plug should NOT be used. I get it, these are low watt (27W) and do not need 16 guage wire. But the included wire is 20 AWG and cannot be spliced without the brittle wire breaking. I've been opening and working on electronics, doing house wiring, etc for a long time. I've never had experience with a wire this thin and brittle, especially in consideration of application. To give you an example, I've attached an image demonstrating what happens if you pull to separate the crimp from factory. With little pull, the wire just breaks apart instead of sleeve removed. I used every stripper and splicer I had while the length of cord got shorter and shorter. I ended up wiring directly to the tubes. I saved a few $ but spent time doing what I was trying to avoid, custom wiring LEDs to fit my application. I've also attached an image comparing the thickess to 18 guage, and another to demonstrate what happens when you use a wire stripper. Again, the wires pull right out.

The lights were replacements for old, rusty garage fluorescents. These are way better lighting wise than my old fluorescent fixtures. They are compact housings, so pretty much disappear on the ceiling in daytime hours.HOWEVER, a simple little one-page tiny insert with wiring instructions would be a HUGE improvement. It would be very important and helpful to know that the center, yellow wire is the ground, and that because of the transformer, the other two are interchangeable. But without someone else on amazon who was brave enough to take his apart to find that out, and helpful enough to post his answer to the question previously, I would be sending these back. Hence I shaved 1 star off, not due to quality of product, but to the entire and complete lack of instructions.

Very bright and great shade of white. Light and easy to install. They do not come with installation instructions or wiring instructions, so if you are not very handy, you might want to hire an electrician. I was able to figure out the wiring by taking one apart and inspecting it - the yellow wire on the pigtail connector (supplied) is the ground, the other two wires are both white and connect to the hot and neutral. Doesn't matter which one you connect to hot or neutral, will work both ways.

Great lighting at a great price. I used both the 3-for and 4-foot versions as under-shelf lighting to illuminate the benches in my workshop. They are bright but not blinding. I’m very pleased, but please note that these are direct-wired and not something you can just plug into a socket unless you add a plug of your own.

There is no plug! The cord is very short! I bought plugs for the ends at Home Depot. The wires were brittle and kept breaking. My son wired them for me. He said never buy them again!!!
