The Sky Is Full of Stars (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2)

Love this series; this one good too
We have a small library of the Lets Read and Find Out series, so we knew we would like the book. Even with that, we were pleasantly surprised with this one. It is about constellations more than different kinds of stars. Our first experiences with stars are with the bright points in the sky and the patterns they make. It takes a telescope and some experience to be interested in differentiating the types of stars. The Sky is Full of Stars has information little ones can identify with.

or even 4th grader it would be perfect to introduce the concepts of stars and constellations
I bought it for Kindergarterners and 1st graders for a 50 minute class and it proved to be a little too complex for them to really comprehend. However, for a 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th grader it would be perfect to introduce the concepts of stars and constellations.

This book does a great job of explaining the constellations
I teach 1st grade and one of our objectives is to teach objects that are in the sky. This book does a great job of explaining the constellations. It is one of my favorite teaching tools for the night sky.

This is an uninspired book. There were a few very interesting pages that the author seemed to spend some actual time on. Beyond that, naming the constellations does not make for very engaging kids reading. There are better choices for young astronomers.

Not as bright as I thought ....
A bit dull compared to other star books.

Great for grandson (and me!)
Brilliant for a young mind that is just starting to show an interest in the planets and stars!
