It honestly sounds like a card issue. Format on your PC to fat32 format, then install in camera, power on, open menu and find 'format'. Format, then it should be fine. If not, try a different card (no more than 32gb).

Q: I have an area of dots on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror. Will this camera work correctly?

I also have dots behind the rear view mirror. I stuck the main body of the camera to the dots area, making sure the lens of the camera is below the dots. Turn the camera on to find the best position before sticking to the windscreen.

You probably need to change the setting under the WDR option in the menu setting. This setting compensates for the amount of light available. I queried this with the seller and I've pasted their reply below. The English isn't perfect but you can understand it:WDR pls press " on " direct. EV value if you think the light is not enough, you just need choose + 1.0(>=+0.0）。 if you think the light is stong, need make it dim, you need choose - 1.0(<= +0.0). just adjusted to your surrounds.Hope that helps.

Q: How many adhesive pads do you get with the mount kit? I have 2 cars - would it be possible to swap around?

Mine came with one that hold camera and one to hold triangular bit to hide wires. The adhesive is permanently stuck to a plastic plate that holds the camera. So it will be difficult if not impossible to use it in two different vehicles if you are mounting with it. I have done a DIY mounting to my rare view mirror and it works fine.
