A Practical Handbook for the Boyfriend: For Every Guy Who Wants to Be One/For Every Girl Who Wants to Build One Hardcover – Illustrated, January 23, 2007

I left this book laying in the bathroom and now all of a sudden I'm getting flowers and champagne from my husband. He obviously was reading some of it. He started dressing nicer for me instead of the work clothes all the time and he makes a point to take me out on dates. I found the book humerous and worth reading for myself just to laugh at how nuts we women are. My husband started reading it because it was mysteriously the only new material to read in the bathroom :). It was truly worth buying.

I bought this book for my boyfriend with the intention of personalizing the content, which means I read through the entire book and wrote commentary in the margins so my bf could gain the most useful information relevant to our situation. This was actually a really good idea and helped the two of us talk about some issues that don't come up in everyday conversations. Although the authors generalized a little too much in areas, this information was spot on and delivered with clean humor.

This book has so much great information and it is right on target. Any guy who wants to really understand women better could benefit from this book. As a woman I understand men a bit better as well. The format is easy, quick reading and witty. I bought the book because I thought it would be laugh out loud funny but it isn't. Having been married over 10 years, I have learned these lessons already (some the hard way) but for new couples I would definately recommend this book.

I marked nine passages in the book and gave it to my husband for Valentine's Day and changes are beginning to happen...For the first time in 20 years he actually gave me a compliment when I returned home after getting my hair cut! This past weekend he accompanied me to the theater. He's all about football so that was HUGE!The book is a bargain at twice the price!

after reading a lot of reviews on this book i decided to check it out for myself...esp since i have a new love in my life and i really want to make her happy...this book had a lot of no brainer stuff...(you ask yourself..."why didn't i think of that???") and some of the stuff i knew...but the book is a great read...funny and informative...i would recommend this book to anyone who wants to make their special someone as happy as they can be

Too funny! My 23 year old daughter and I bought this as a joke for her boyfriend, and ended up deciding we would read it before giving to him. It's a riot. And it's also pretty spot on.

I'll admit to being to being more book smart than street smart, and this funny and well written book has helped me understand women and dating better. After now living with my GF for two years, I retread some older sections and realized, yup, she does that. Still humorous and relevant. I recommend it.

I found this a very fasinating and enlightening book. Fun for me to read, however when I gave to to the Man in my life at that time, I think it scared him off, as the truth hurts. If only they would read, they could learn a lot. Yes MEN ARE REALLY FROM MARS

First, there are a couple of reasons to buy this book:1) If you want to laugh at the enane things we boys do as boyfriends and want to know why or how to train us better (or just put up with us ;-)2) You genuinley want to know how to be a better boyfriends/partner/spouse whatever.Although there are quite a few tidbits of information in this book, the main thing about this book is that it's easy to read, funny and short. But that's about it I'm afraid. It doesn't go into huge amounts of detail, and it is derogatory about boys and even girls (which was refreshing) but in a good way.I did enjoy it. Did I buy it wanting tips? Yes, and I was both surprised and slightly disapointed as it wasn't totally forthcoming in that sense (and the only reason why this book doesn't get 5 stars). I would recomend it, but not for any specific practical guide (despite what the cover title says). I suspect there are better guides out there. In fact I know there must be...take my ex for one who never shut up (but that's another story).

Supposed to be kind of a comical thing but it actually makes a lot of sense.
