Great well made product, but large plugsI.e hot tubs etc the lid won't close,This is only suitable for normal thin house plugs

I needed to get power to my greenhouse, so that I could use a couple of 80watt tube heaters over the winter period. This product was exactly what I was looking for. Being a caravanner I knew that my caravan mains lead was totally waterproof when used on site, so my original plan was to make up my own lead using this type of cable with a plug on one end, and a socket on the other. When I saw this one already made up with the same waterproof cable, and two sockets on one end, I knew this was just perfect for my plan. On delivery I was impressed with the excellent quality, and I soon had it connected from my garage to the greenhouse, taking care to route it out of harms way alongside my fence. To stop the cable moving, I anchored it gently to the ground using some of my surplus plastic tent pegs! I connected a couple of tube heaters in the greenhouse, and it has worked fine so I'm well pleased and can recommend this product if you need a waterproof outdoor cable.

This is an excellent product. Arrived very quickly. Made to a high standard I had to take the plug off one end to get the wire through The summerhouse wall and then the box apart to mount to the wall everything was well made with clips on the end of all the wires and put together extremely well, really good product would definitely use this company again. Picture of it is installed in our summer house from an outside plug essentially like a giant extension lead.

well it'll no doubt do the job and is most likely rain / shower proof but its not a socket for those wanting to often change plugs or use at all really, extremely difficult to get the unit open so that you can plug anything into it, some elderly people would probably never get it open, good if you want to stop young children from opening it and getting to plugs as they would never manage it. I noticed on the product picture it has a single "PRESS HERE" point to allow the unit to open, on my unit it has 2 "PRESS HERE" points that requires two hands at those points (and you have to press hard), trouble is you then need a third hand to actually open it while your pressing those two points in, a simple engineering flaw that means in-order to plug something in is now a two person job

I attached this to a wall next to our pool for the pool pump and ran the cable against the walls with a shield over them. It meant I did not have to remove the cable every time the kids wanted to go in the pool. Easy enough to install. Seal is good and double plug gives flexibility.

Having used this item to provide power to garden lights etc at a BBQ, I can't complain about it's functionality. What I wasn't happy with was the state in which the item arrived - with quite severe scuffs and markings to the outer case - see photos. The packaging wasn't great - basically taped in a black plastic bag slightly thicker than a bin bag, but the packaging didn't seem to have damage that related to the damage on the actual item, so can only assume this item was damaged before it was shipped. So in summary - I had to use the item to avoid spoiling the BBQ, so I'm keeping it - but I'm not happy that I've paid almost £40 for a damaged product, and this would put me off ordering again.

I bought this so I could add heat and light to my greenhouse. As water will inevitably be splashed inside the greenhouse and the unit can be dripped on, the need for it to be waterproof is paramount. All in all it would appear that way - I just felt that having the cable entry at the top of the unit was strange as any slight imperfection in the seal would allow water in - if it was at the bottom of the unit water would drip away and not have any chance of entering the box. I did try to reverse the back box so the entry would be at the bottom but couldn't make the screw holes line up (maybe that was just me). In saying all that, it seems a good unit and fit for purpose. As others have said, the lid will only close when standard plugs are used so if you have something that requires a power unit or something bulkier it won't fit. If it is just a bulky plug, you can always just change it for a standard one. Apart from the query over the cable entry (which may not be a problem) I am quite satisfied with this product

Had this nine months sitting outside in permanent place I have had no problems with it is waterproof good piece of kit should last years. Bit difficult to open as it’s waterproof it needs to be tight though and I don’t need to open it, like the fact I was able to get 10 meters only one wire now trailing to back of garden for water fountain and lights instead of loads of wires. Only one thing I would recommend is better packaging box was slightly scraped one corner luckily not cracked and doesn’t affect performance.
