Exactly what we have been looking for!
Great eye and face protection that fits well, is lightweight and amazingly, is well tolerated by our "spirited" chiweenie, Ruby. Ruby developed sudden, total blindness this year making eye and head protection a necessity to prevent injury and infection, especially outdoors and when traveling. We did not have success with other protective gear due to fitting and comfort issues, so we were excited to find and try the OptiVizor, which offers various ways to adjust fit for comfort, while providing total protection to eyes, face and snout. We rate our experience thus far as a great success! We started off slowly introducing Ruby to the device with intermittent wear and a lot of praise. She has adjusted to her "hat" more quickly than anticipated, wearing it each time she goes outside with fewer and fewer attempts to remove it and displaying a level of comfort and acceptance that gives us confidence that our search for protective eye and face wear is over. The assistance and customer service offered by the vendor, Pet Solutions, has been outstanding. By following their specific ordering instructions, you have a greater chance of success with the OptiVizor. Ruby has always been a hard-to-fit mixed breed - Dachshund/Chihuahua - with a larger body and smaller head. By measurement and photos, it was recommended that we order a small. Once received it became clear that the small would not work, even with adjustments. We contacted Pet Solutions for their expert advice, providing photos for their review. They agreed that the toy size was needed. We ordered the toy size and it has worked beautifully with small adjustments. We returned the small and have received a full refund. Paying for return shipping on this unique item was a non-issue for us considering the reasonable price of the device and the excellent support we received from Pet Solutions. This has been a positive experience and we would highly recommend giving the OptiVizor, and this vendor, a try!

Definitely Better than E-Collar
Definitely this works better than the ordinary e-collar to protect eye area and it is more comfortable for the dog. The sizing chart is very confusing but the seller will assist you to select the perfect size for your dog. In order to help with the sizing, you are asked to send several photos of your dog and answer few questions. The actual Optivisor will come with detailed instructions & tips and some foam padding to custom fit perfectly to your dog. In my case, the Vet doctor & the vet assistant helped me to custom fit to my dog but you can also get help from the seller again to make sure it fits your dog.

Vet said no for post cataract surgery, ok for outdoor use as shield after healed fully.
Wears much more comfortable than an Elizabethan cone, but vet said not for post cataract surgery, will keep it for an eye shield after eyes are fully healed when hiking to protect her eyes.

Hard to find the right fit
I measured my dog's head (small weimeraner) and this visor was still too big. She's pretty bendy and was able to wriggle her way out of it no matter how tight I tried to make it. Her neck is really long and thin, too, so that could be part of the problem. Had it fit her head correctly, I definitely think it would have worked to keep her from scratching her eye. Her eye was nearly healed by the time I received this, so we just stuck it out with the cone of shame a while longer. Overall, a good concept and if you get the right fit, I think it would be much less stressful to the dog than the cone.

Better than a cone of shame
Worked very well to cover my dogs eyes as he had an infection. He was not able to rub his eyes with his paws or on furniture. The optivizor was very light weight and pliable. After about the first hour of wearing the optivizor my dog didn’t mind it at all and wore it all day and all night for several weeks without any problems. Was nice having his ears outside of the cover unlike a traditional cone of shame. Cleans easily with damp paper towel.

Life changing for our pup!
Our 7 year old cocker spaniel, Sheldon, is blind & we battle eye infections constantly. This visor protects his eyes from debris getting in them, our basset hound from licking them (I know…ewww), and additionally protects him from eye injury. We tried goggles but they don’t allow air to circulate which creates infection so this visor is the perfect solution! Sheldon does not mind wearing it all!

A good eye protector for pets.
I bought a tiny size for my chihuahua as she got an eye surgery lately. It cannot fit very well at the beginning as I know dogs are different in skull size and shape among all breeds. I made a few adjustments after observing on her reaction and behaviour. The transparent front shield is fabulous but the helmet is a bit heavy and stiff for small pet. And I suggest a longer length of velcro at the chin will provide rooms for better fittings.

Great Substitute for A cone of shame
My newfie just had her eye removed and the cone around her neck was absolutely terrible. I bought this, trimmed the snout a bit and it was great! she could eat, drink, get in and out of her cage and the dog door with no issue, plus see from every direction and it did not mess with her hearing. the only downfall is it could be loose at times and she wiggled it off, but I got some string and was able to reinforce it.
