To begin this replacement is longer than most other replacement gauges I’ve researched. Therefore it allows us to track rainfall more accurately. The quality and thickness of the glass is stronger and more sturdy than others I’ve tried. In addition the protective packaging for shipping was sturdy enough that it arrived in excellent condition. We bring the gauge in during the winter to avoid it potentially breaking during a freeze. The packaging can be re-used to safely store the gauge for the season .I definitely recommend.

This rain gage replaced a broken plain glass tube rain gage in a decorative post that we had. It was a perfect fit and more useful since it has graduations! Price was good also!

The test tube came as described and fit into the space available for it on the old rain gauge body.

The unit looks nice, easy to read, but the outside dimensions are not as stated . The lip is stated as 1-1/4 OD which is what I need for my gauge stand. It slips very easily through a 1" diameter loop on my stand. Paid premium price for a glass tube that was not as described dimensionally. Well keep it since it is a hassle to send it back and I jury rigged a fix so it is at least usable.

I didn't bring my glass rain gauge in before the freezing temperatures... The bottom (where the ice was) broke off. I needed to find a replacement that was tall and only one inch diameter. This glass gauge was a perfect replacement. The numbers are black and large so they are very easy to read.

I bought this to replace a rain gauge that broke. It fits perfectly on the garden art where it needed to be mounted. Of course, I measured beforehand. It came quickly and seems to be of nice quality.

Fit our dragonfly tube holder perfectly. Arrived in great shape. Unfortunately it is very inaccurate. In a side by side 30 minute irrigation run test, the gauge registered 1.125” while a open straight cylinder measured only .486”. Will continue testing to determine a true conversion factor against a neighbors digital rain gauge.

I have been using this rain gauge for about 10 years. Its simple design made me confident in its ability to catch rain and report overall rainfall. Over the years, I would notice a discrepancy between what the weather bureau reported and what rain fell in my year, but I dismissed it. Also, over the years, the markings have faded and worn away. I had to remark it with a sharpie. That quickly wore off too.Recently, I put out a different gauge and I have discovered that this rain gauge is terribly inaccurate. For instance, it rained last night for about 3 hours. This gauge shows receiving over 6” of rain and the other shows about 2 ¼. The weather bureau reports 1.73” in Indianapolis. I live on the south side, so the difference between the reported 1.73” and 2.25” is totally possible; but not 6+”!In summary, this gauge is woefully inaccurate and will report much more rain than actually received. I would not purchase it again.
