Revelation

Barnhouse, aside from being one of the 20th century's premier theologians, was also a compelling and gifted writer. Although this is a commentary it reads like a great book; you can't put it down. He carefully ties together both OT and NT prophecy, explaining God's plan for our world in a comprehensive, well documented narrative. I have read this book 3 times over the years. It never gets old.

Revelation by Donald Barnhouse is a Treasure for anyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of the book of Revelation!! Revelation is the only book in the Bible which promises a Blessing to those who read it. God wants us to know His plans for the future. Donald Barnhouse had a deep grasp of this!! It’s imminently worth reading - perhaps I should say, even studying. Some people, including pastors, avoid the book of Revelation, thinking it is not to be understood. Some even say it is scary!! Not true! The only “Scary” thing is not being ready to stand before our Maker! I highly recommend the book of Revelation, in the Bible & Barnhouse’s book “Revelation”!! Survival techniques are very popular in the world today. These two books are books of Eternal Survival!!

I have just started reading a few pages of this book and already found myself facinated by the author's unique way of interpreting Scriptures. I can't wait to read it through as soon as I can. Dr. Barnhouse cited the symbols from the Old Testament to interpret the same symbols in Revelation. This is eye-opening to me. I have read quite a few commentaries on Revelation, but anything close to this book. So, I gave it five stars.I bought another one of his books, "The Invisible War" some thirty years ago. I have read it at least two times and still use it as my Bible study reference book. This book is my mentor of learning the Bible. I laid a foundation for me. So useful that I bought a new one for my wife. I would recommand anyone who is interested in understanding the dispensation of God in the Bible to also pick up this one and read it through. I beleive you won't regret.

I chose a rating of 5 stars because of what I learned from the book. It is written in easy to understand language on a hard to understand subject. In his interpretations and commentary of the Book of Revelation, Barnhouse gives reasons and references to back up what he writes. He also does not hesitate to say when he can not give an interpretation or when he disagrees with other authors. I have read at least two other similar book on the Book of Revelation but this one gave me a much better understanding than the others.

Good quality

Marvelous teaching for those who want to understand the last book in the Bible. Teaching is clear, lots of stories and illustrations and the book can be heard and followed on the Dr. Barnhouse and the Bible site.

This is a very good exposition of the book of Revelation. While I may disagree with a few things he was still very sound overall Every person who wants to study the book of Revelation should purchase this work.

I think Barnhouse is an excellent writer so I thought I'd see his interpretation of end times. Interesting, even though he seems to get lost at times speculating. He's a good man and I imagine he's hearing the Truth now.
