Says 8 pound pack, it's in the same bucket as an 8 pound, but it's only a 4.6 lb. It says so on the bucket (bought 7x)
Thought I'd found a good deal because they were on sale and said 8 lb, just like the other Wise Food buckets I'd purchased. I bought seven of them and noticed on the bucket that they are in fact 4.6 lbs.The boxes they were shipped in said 8 lb, but buckets themselves state clearly 4.6 lbs. The other Wise Food products I've purchased state 8 lbs on the bucket and are nearly twice as heavy when you pick them both up.They're mismarked!

Be Careful! Please Read!
Be Careful! There are 4 entrees and each one is packaged as all 4 servings in one pouch. it is not 4 separate pouches. These meals would work in a pinch but you are going to have to make all 4 servings at once or divvy it out to last more days. There are also 2 breakfast pouches that are packaged the same way, 2 pouches with 4 servings in each. The description also claims 8 pounds.... it is not. The bucket clearly states 4.6 pounds. The item description is wrong. The shipping package is 8lbs, but that includes the bucket and box, you are not getting 8lbs of food! Overall I am disappointed, you will not last long with this prepper pack. There are only 24 Servings of actual food (breakfast included). If one person only eats 2 times daily, this is enough for 12 days, or for 2 people it is enough for 6 days. The drinks are a nice bonus for calories..... but they aren't meals.

Most of the servings are kool aid and dry milk ...
Most of the servings are kool aid and dry milk product. This is NOT 52 servings of food - it's only 24 "servings" of food, in 6 packs. The rest is all drink mix.

HOW BAD IS IT?
The box with this product should really read: IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, Only open and consume product after you have ALREADY bent over and kissed your Ass Goodbye! The food is not just bad, it is horrible. Made by the "Wise Company" I would consider consuming any more of this product, you guessed it, UNWISE! After I carefully followed the instructions to properly prepare this product it still ranks up there with the worst! I have ever seen or tasted. Now I grant you that I did not expect anything as good as my mothers home cooking when I placed the order for this grossly overpriced product, I didn't even expect cooking as bad as my own but this product does not fail to disappoint. In my judgement this product sets a new a new standard BAD! SO, how bad is bad you ask? Well, my answer is, I have never wondered how bad something a Frog would spit out actually is, but were I to take the time to ponder just what a Frog would spit out, I would start with the UNWISE purchase I made from the WISE COMPANY. If anyone needs further clarification, I would simply say I am glad these products have a 25 year shelf life as I trust it will take me at least that long to forget how bad this "food" actually is. Do you remember when your parents used to say if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all??? keeping that in mind I will say to the positive, The picture on the package is nicest picture I have ever seen on one of the worse food items I have ever tasted. Were there real "TRUTH IN ADVERTISING", THIS PRODUCT WOULD BE LABLED AS FOLLOWS: IN CASE OF DIRE EMERGENCY, WHEN YOUR LIFE IS AT RISK FROM STARVATION, YOU WILL STILL DEEPLY REGRET HAVING CHOSEN THIS MEAL AS YOUR LAST!

I should have actually examined the comments... :-(
I admit it - sometimes I click faster than I think. In this case - based on the price, number of servings, and 4 out of 5 stars average - I didn't read the actual comments in the reviews. As several of them say - and I agree - you get a few bags of food in the bottom half or so of the bucket; servings aren't individually packaged and most of the servings are in the "Orange Drink" mix and "Whey Milk substitute" bag. I've got this now, and will keep it as it is my fault for being suckered in.As an Idea of how empty the bucket is, I was able to fit two LED camping laterns, a cooking set, and a water filter (still in its package) into the bucket on top of the food.At least I didn't buy one of their larger selections. I'll be looking at better options - especially ones that are individually packaged. I won't be buying from this company again!

LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PACKAGING/SERVINGS BEFORE BUYING! 28 SERVINGS ARE BEVERAGE!
How do you put 4 pounds of food in an 8 pound container? Lots of airspace. There 8 total pouches in this container, and if you are counting on feeding your family on this thing you may get a day out of it. Want thirty days of food supply? Then get a bigger house to store these things in. Each gourmet flavor is packaged with all of the servings, that is 1 pouch=4 servings, unless your talking about the drink mix, then the serving numbers are quite a bit higher. Really I wouldnt mind so much if there was just more "food" instead of beverage, and what the manufacturer calls a "serving" seems to be more like a half serving. Other comparable dehydrated food brands seem to have almost twice as much volume/calories per serving than these. If your looking for a good bucket to ponder the meaning of life on, then great product. If your wanting to feed yourself for more than 3 days, then keep looking.

Three Stars
Everything looks great! I'm holding off on 5 stars until we try it for an upcoming camping trip.EDIT:We cracked this open and tried some of the food for our camping trip. ... It basically tastes like flavorless paste.

Less than advertised
This turned out to be more hype than anything. You get a few sealed packets of dehydrated food, each about 200 or so calories. Not only is that far too little, but each packet's individual price averaged out to about $7.50. Hamburger helper would be cheaper, and have more calories, and last just as long. And 52 servings? I don't think so. Only if you count the bunch of powdered milk packets as servings. You end up w/ about 1/2 that number of actual entrees, each barely a snack. Food for one man, for 3 days. I'm changing my tactic to buying dry goods that I can store myself, and canned, jarred, etc food. It's saving me a fortune, and increasing my food supply immensly.
