I’ve been using this Mighty Bliss heating pad for almost 4 months and I am positively THRILLED!!!MY ISSUES: My job as an electrical engineer has me hunched over my computer and electrical diagrams for many hours a day. I’ve tried chiropractic chairs and ergonomic desks…… Taken and followed advice from everyone and their grandmother…but to no avail! My neck and shoulder muscles just tense up leaving me with a THROBBING pain that begins directly behind my ears, pulses way down my neck and spreads right through my shoulders. The WORST part is the spasms that only intensify as I try to relax! I’m always stiff and achy long after I’ve left my office, just as I’m trying to unwind on my sofa and watch some TV!!And believe me when I say I have tried absolutely EVERYTHING!From creams to exercises to acupuncture to aquatic therapy to cortisone shots…….. Lately, I’ve been racking up bills at the chiropractor as that’s the only treatment that’s offered me some relief. He has also suggested that I use a heating pad between sessions and during flare-ups. I’ve found that to be helpful too.However, it’s taken me FOREVER to find the RIGHT heating pad! I’ve gone through several and found none of those small, cheaply made, scratchy clothed, poorly wired PIECES OF JUNK (at best…. And FIRST CLASS FIRE HAZARDS at worst…!) to actually work for more than a few weeks!After the last one annoyed the hell out of me with inconsistent heating (it had cold spots) and kept coming out of its itchy fabric envelope (poorly designed to pretend it’s an upgrade over the bare plastic ones…!) I went online to research the highest quality, chiropractic heating pad out there. (I’m actually embarrassed to mention just how much I thought I was going to have to spend!!!!)I must admit the real reason the Mighty Bliss heating pad caught my attention at first was the sharp turquoise color and that SOFT PLUSHY MATERIAL!!! And I figured it can only be an improvement to what I’ve already tried. I’ve tried them ALL!!! It was way cheaper than I bargained for, had excellent reviews, and boasted significantly larger dimensions than any heating pad I’ve ever owned. Well, I sure was pleased! It turned out to be the largest, plushiest piece of turquoise HEAVEN I have ever experienced in a heating pad…. BEFORE EVEN TURNING IT ON!… And whadya know…??? Suddenly my wife needs it too!! She’s had back pain ever since she had a bad fall on a skiing trip, but she’s a “Pop-2-advils-and-carry-on” kinda girl...All of a sudden I’m sharing my heating pad…! She SWEARS she feels a HUGE difference!Being the electrical engineer I am and having seen 1 too many heating pads nearly start a fire I obviously (knee jerk reaction, I cannot help myself) unscrewed the controller and took a deeper look into the electrical workings of this pad and I must say I’m impressed with the quality and safety level of this heating pad.FIRST and foremost, its designed to shut down as soon as it detects too much electricity/ heat trapped or concentrated in one area (for example when putting too much weight or pressure directly on it.) This might make the product appear defective but in reality, this would prevent a fire, unlike most heating pads which aren’t designed to detect this kind of issue!And by the way, this pad features and ETL Certification, which if I had to explain without boring you to death pretty much means that a universally recognized Electronic Testing company called Intertek put this pad through HELL….and it held up perfectly!SECONDLY, the 2-hour shutoff feature is brilliant! I only realized the subconscious anxiety I had when using other heating pads (for fear of dozing off and forgetting to shut it before I fell asleep) when I started using THIS one and realizing that I could ALLOW MYSELF to fall asleep REST ASSURED that is would SHUT ITSELF OFF!! (and not stay on all night if I conked out on the sofa!)BEST OF ALL: This Mighty Bliss heating pad really has improved my neck and shoulder pain SIGNIFICANTLY, as I've been able to go much longer between chiropractor appointments!!!There’s just something about this heating pad that makes me truly relax and allow it to work its MAGIC on my stiff muscles!BOTTOM LINE: If you’re looking for that PERFECT heating pad and going in circles as I did, forget all the other JUNK out there and stick with MIGHTY BLISSThe features that have me sold on this: EXTRA LARGE PAD... long enough to cover my entire back... SOFT AND COZY... EXTRA LONG CORD – I can now use it in bed. I HATED the feeling of being leashed to my electrical outlets. 3 DIFFERENT TEMPERATURE SETTINGS (I love the hottest! my wife likes medium.) HEATS UP QUICKLY and EVENLY! ELECTRONICALLY SAFE AND SOUND with the brilliant 2 HOUR SHUTOFF!OK enough said....

This Mighty Bliss Heating pad heats up well! Buy, as I have seen in some of the reviews, the heat goes off and the setting you have it on becomes a red blinking light, with no heat. This has happened with several Sunbeam heating pads as well. I finally found out, by accident that it WILL continue to work without shutting off, no blinking red light if you use an extension cord! I don't know why, but I tried plugging it is to several regular outlets without an extension cord and eventually or sometimes pretty quickly, it turns off! Buy, if I connect it to the outlet, any outlet with an extension cord, it stays on! I know that sounds strange but it's true! I have had it about 3 months now, and before I found this ouy, it went off every time I used it. (I use it all the time when I'm home) I have Degenerative Disc disease and the heat makes the pain more bearable, sometimes lessening it. Anyway, don't be afraid to buy it, just be aware that you may need to use an extension cord. As I mentioned, the Sunbeam heating pads do the same thing as far as going off. With those, you need to unplug it and plug it back in, but I didn't know about the extension cord trick so at some point they stop working altogether. I have thrown away more than I'm willing to admit. I don't know if the extension cord trick would work with Sunbeam pads. The Mighty Bliss pad is very soft and it's a pretty deep blue shade, just like the picture. It is nice a long and covers from the very lowest part of my back all the way to my neck! From now on, I will only buy the extra large pads. It is also wide enough to go from one side of your back to the other. You can't take the cover off but you can spot clean it. It shouldn't really get dirty though, if you are just using on your bed or sofa. After 3 months, mine looks like I just took it out of the box. It stays soft too! It doesn't flatten down as much as I use it. I hope this helps someone...

I have been wanting a heating pad for awhile now and finally made the move and bought this one after reading all of the great reviews. I absolutely love this thing. I keep it by my bed and plug it in when I get into bed after 15 hour shifts and will instantly melt into my bed and knock out into straight REM sleep. The heating pad heats up pretty quickly (probably less than 1 minute) regardless of the setting. I do place it behind me on my back which the directions say to avoid doing as it can interrupt the heat flow and can overheat but of course use your judgement when using if it starts to get too hot just move it from underneath you and get some air circulating. It also does automatically shut off at some point I’m not sure how long (probably within an hour? Less?) but I always make sure to unplug it when I’m not using it just in case (better to be safe!) this little thing is pretty powerful and has helped with my sore muscles and cramps. It’s not terribly big though probably the length of a pillow but it as wide so it won’t cover too big of an area however I am petite so it’s perfect for me, my back, my stomach or legs. I have recommended this heating pad to coworkers and plan on gifting some this holiday season to family and friends. Love it and I will recommend !

The heating pad is great and was working well, but has gotten very dirty over time. I tried washing it on gentle as the instructions that are written directly on the pad say to and the back part of the power cord connector broke off. Now the connection just flops around. Waiting for it to completely dry before I test it to make sure it still works.

It was good while it lasted. Blankets gets nice and hot and we haven’t had issues with it. Our family of three use it on rotations and it’s served us well. And although that’s the case, one year does not count as durable to me. I’d likely buy again but would most def would continue shopping for another, too.
