Cool pen! Impressed.
Before I start this pen is actually the Blackjack tactical pen model BJ061, and not the one advertised. But is no different except for the model number. Anyways I'm not a "tactical pen expert". In fact this is the first one I've bought. At first I didn't know weather to buy this or not, due to the low price. Didn't know if the build and material quality would be poor. But I'm happy to report that this is a excellent quality pen. I've compared it my friend's Smith and Wesson M&P and his Uzi Tackpen 6 and I see no real difference in material or build quality. I am a paramedic and my occupation opens me up to potentially dangerous people and situations. I've have knives pulled on me a few times and it's uncomfortable to say the least. So I bought this just for a little extra advantage. Plus I'm always using a pen so it has definitely multiple functions for me. I've never had to use it in a defensive situation since I've gotten it (and hope to never have to) but I can tell you it will leave a mark. I did however use it as a window punch recently and it preformed flawlessly. So over all I'm impressed and will keep it part of my EDC. In fact I ordered another one because my fiancรฉe wanted it also. Only small complaint is the shipping took a long time. But it does say that it takes about 2-3 days before it ships.

Good for the price, with a few flaws
This pen is good for the price, a great backup to your primary pen, but it is back-heavy if you try to write with the cap on it.The flat top allows the thumb to go over it if held in a defensive position, which multiplies the force at the pointy end, and the pocket clip holds well.If you're going to write with it very much, leave the cap off, but put it somewhere you won't lose it.The cap does not have a rubber o-ring around the inside, so it must be screwed on tightly to keep it from coming off.If you're looking for a good first tactical pen, this is a great model to figure out if tac pens are for you, but you'll likely want to pass this one down and step up to another model later.

Good product at a reasonable price
Good product at a reasonable price. Looked at other tactical pens like the UZI and others slightly more expensive but this one does the job at a slightly lesser cost. The product is build strong, the pen write ok...don't expect beautiful fluid strokes - more like cheap ball point pen but for the price (and if you tend to lose pens like I do) it is worth it. It also conceals well either in a shirt polo or pants pocket and the flat cap is great for an over thumb grip - some tactical pens have a "window" breaker cap which is great for that purpose but terrible for the tactical application. My only gripe is that the cap does not always affix well onto the tactical point side well when writing and at times is loose.

This PEN is Literally Mightier Than a Sword
I bought this pen as a gift for my husband four years ago and he still keeps it on him every single day. I don't want to say too much on here in case someone has less than honorable purposes for buying this, but it is a PEN that works really well and a PEN you can keep on your person in case of emergency and as a PEN it is so discreet that you can bring it anywhere you might need a PEN. Sometimes you are somewhere that does not allow PENS but these PENS are so good that they will usually let you in and if no one else has a PEN it's good to know you have one in case you need to...write something. If you are the only person with a PEN, you will be well-prepared. Just be careful not to let anyone use your PEN or they might take it. It is light enough to not feel weighed-down but strong and substantial enough to feel that it is good-quality and would be very durable and effective if a PEN is needed. This was such an inexpensive but well-loved gift and my husband literally hates everything but loved this PEN and uses it EVERY SINGLE DAY.

It clips easily, discretely into my polo shirts
Despite the fact it is made in CHINA I gave it 5 stars, reason being; It clips easily, discretely into my polo shirts, no one has noticed that I am carrying a weapon on my shirt as of yet, without me displaying it to an individual. I was satisfied enough with it to purchase one for my daughter and mother as stocking suffers for CHRISTMAS (This day includes the word CHRIST!) . I opted out buying them for my dad and brother this pen as a gift due to the fact that I'm not putting anything in gift wrap that is produced in China, I chose to get them higher quality tactical pens made by Smith & Wesson and Sharade. I will provide an update regarding said pens when received. I previously purchased the Tom Anderson TA-TP2BK Tactical Ball Point Pen, Black and immediately pawned it off to a co-worker, it was also made in china, but not closely to the manufacturing quality of this pen. I will eventually be getting the CRKT TPENWK Williams Tactical Pen, to see how it compares to this pen, at roughly 5 tiemes the cost it had better impress me. All this being said, for a cost of only $11 you can not go wrong with this item.Matthew

Overall i liked the pen
Overall i liked the pen. The problem, for me, was the 1/4 turn cap. It cross threaded within 2 weeks. At my job I am constantly using my pen. I may use it 20 to 30 different times a day. This pen is now constantly coming apart. It needs at least a full turn to ensure a better seal between the cap and the pen. Also, the rubber O ring fell out after a couple of weeks. I loved the design and it felt great in my hand but due to the fact the cap constantly falls off, i would not buy another one until they fix this issue.

BlackJack Knives Tactical Pen
I looked at a lot of defense pens on here. I settled on this one as it looked to be the most operable pen. Coming from BlackJack knives I was confident it would be a quality pen. I didn't want the "rescue" pen designed with the bare metal glass breaker tip and pointed top. If you're using it for defense the last thing you want to do is jam your thumb on a sharp pointed tip. So this one having the flat top was the best choice. It has a twist off cap with a rubber o-ring seal to reveal the ink tip. The pen does write but I didn't buy it to write love notes if you know what I'm saying. The overall finish of the pen is nice, it has a good strong pocket clip and it's a steal for a brand name pen for under $12.
