Nonverbal Learning Disabilities at Home: A Parent's Guide

My husband and I were informed that our 8 year old son with Spina Bifida (myelo) and hydrocephalus has NLD. So many red flags have flown high for years now, but I continued to be reassured that he just had learning delays and that we just had an overly emotional child with a knack for tantrums. This book has lifted a large amount of weight off of my chest. Incredibly written and so informational. I know that we have a long road ahead of us (it has been a long road already with his other diagnoses so this is just another hurdle), but I feel much more confident in our ability to try to at least guide Q through life as painlessly as possible. Thank you Pamela for giving me some hope and especially for the guidance!

I just discovered that my 8 year old son has NVLD. It came as a shock and I decided to read all I could about it. This book covers everything. There's another book by the same author entitled "NonVerbal Learning Disabilities at School". I home school my son, so I got that book too. I've read both of them front to back, but I find myself going back to them for resources info. Highly recommended for anyone who has a child with NVLD.

Fantastic resource for parents and other caregivers for children with NLD! Easy to read, understandable explanations of the disorder and how it shows up in behavior and functioning. Simple and easy to implement suggestions to improve behavior and overall functioning. Helpful chapter summaries to refer back to when you need a refresher. An AMAZING resource and must read! Helped us and our daughter tremendously!

NVLD affects all areas of life, this book gives practical information to help at home, it helps you to understand your child's strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend it!

I enjoyed the information from the book. The book was great. What I don't get is why I paid as much as I did for it when it was a USED BOOK and I paid for the NEW price.

I found this book very helpful. It helped me understand my child better and gave me ideas I can use at home to make his life less stressful. I also read Nonverbal Learning Disabilities at School. As a parent I found it very helpful to have both. I have already seen a change in my child since applying some of the things I have learned.
