Ilham Al Madfai has beautifully produced these Arabic/Iraqi songs/music in a Classical & Modern Style by using a variaty of Western (e.g.Spanish Guitar, Saxophone, etc..) and Eastern Musical instrumentations which have uplifted and added an extra fresh dimension to his Songs. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this wonderful Baghdad CD over and over again. I beleive Al Madfai is Pioneer in his Style of Arabic/Iraqi Music. Do not hesitate to have this CD as part of your collections and I look forward to hearing his future CDs.

This is a mix of traditional melodies, and slightly more modern songs..with no really obvious musical style,other than Ilham Al Madfai's own unique blend of vocal and musical talent..His voice is distinctive and mellow,this cd is,however..infused with a subtle feeling of slight melancholy..it's generally a laid-back,nostalgic selection,the first track, "El Tufah" and the rather cool "Shlonak"..being exceptions..Stand-out tracks for this reviewer would have to be tracks 3, and 11.It is ..I would say,an essential buy for anyone who likes Ilham Al Madfai..and for any music lover, who can open their minds and their hearts to an extremely talented artist,in any language..the music speaks for itself..
