Perpetual Disappointments Diary Diary – 1 Nov. 2018

Normally I don't usually write reviews because I know no-one reads them and I can't be bothered, but.... This diary is quite good because it has lots of room for me to list my medical conditions and imaginary enemies (obviously I crossed out the word imaginary). Also, I like knowing who's died on this day too.

Take note that this is a perpetual diary, not year-specific. Good for early 2018 because Monday is at the top of each page but only until the end of February. I am using mine to record rainfall etc. for the next few years.

Bought this as a secret santa gift at work. I found this diary hilarious but I would recommend to think twice before you buy it for someone so you don't end up upsetting that person (like I did). We were doing a joint party with other offices so did not know the people or their sense of humour but because I work in a media industry I thought sense of humour should not be an issue...I was so wrong. Found myself on the end of the table secretly laughing at my hilarious joke because I found other's gifts extremely boring, only to see shocked faces all around. Not great but I was still laughing. On a party where the winner goes to someone who has bought a random candle from a charity shop this might not be the greatest idea! Other than that it is great and definitely a funny gift on a budget! Good value for money.

I buy these every year as Secret Santa gifts and they always raise a smile. You used to be only able to buy them from the publishers, but with Amazon selling them now the price has really come down, about 30% I think. They really are funny as they give a cynical view of things. I won't spoil it by telling you the highlights. Buy one. You won't regret it.

I bought this as a secret santa gift and it's really quite funny if you have a sardonic, dry sense of humour. Whilst also having the normal dates expected in a diary, each week has a darkly comedic quote and there are sections at the back marked out for your "passive aggressive notes," "letters you'll never send," "screenplay's you'll never finish."It's a bit odd that the diary isn't specific to the year so you have to match up the day of the week to the date and write them in, I suppose. But I'm not sure it's meant to be that serious anyway...

In 2018 I bought one of these diaries, and found that each week began on a Monday, which is fine, and what a diary is supposed to do, so I bought the 2019 one. Weirdly, I realised that each week begins on a Tuesday, because the 1st of January fell on a Tuesday. That means each new week page is not a new week at all, because the week has already started and the weekend is in the middle of the previous week page. Then I realised that this diary can be used for any year, it has week pages, but you are expected to write in the days yourself. That's crazy. It may save money in production, but what's the point of having a dairy with week pages if they don't start at the beginning of the week? Unless you want to write out all the days yourself, and know that each week is actually spread over two week pages, Tuesday to Tuesday, I'd avoid this. It seems mad to have gone to the trouble of making this desk dairy full of interesting facts and witticisms only to ignore its basic function. I'd have returned it if I hadn't already written in it.

In love with this item.I am not a lover of paper diaries but as my mind isn't the iron fortress of dates and memory I gave in and bought this diary.I love it. It suits my glum outlook on life to a t. I really like the note sections and the prompts in foreign languages like table for one and I have just been hit by a car. Hilarous. If your bored of normal diaries this is for you. The reminders pre printed are dates of the worst moments throughout history and dates of celebrity deaths.It's also not dated so can be used for any year which is handy.

This diary is excellent. It's very funny (even in the small print in the book it has funny comments). Great present for somebody. Would definitely buy one again.
