All the neighbor pets had to have one...
I got this for my 26 year old kitty, who loved it. Now the dog is looking forward to inheriting. This helped Elvira so much, my neighbors with aging pets all ordered one and all report satisfied pets - the Yorkie next door makes her family move the bed from room to room with her! (NOTE: This one fit my aged kitty well - she could sprawl and not fall out, heating element is large enough. For a cat or non-toy size dog, I wouldn't go any smaller than this - my neighbor's much larger Tom is also comfy in his. The soft sides will stand up if you play with them, giving a nice "nest" shape/feel, but your elder pets won't hurt themselves climbing out sideways (there is a nice lower portal in front, but Elvira was blind and frequently made her own routes). One caveat - wash on cold/delicate, dry on low/delicate. The first one I got disintegrated in the wash, but Amazon had a new one headed our way before I could pack up the return. It's done very well and is washed often - so I think the first was a fluke. This one's held up fine. Buy from them, unless you know the seller's return/replacement values.

FIVE THUMBS UP!!!
Our fifteen year old cat, Buster, is very happy with his new heated cat bed by K&H Pet Products. It is a joy to see (and hear!) him sleeping and snoring away happily. (See photo)It took him a few days to adjust, but he now uses it exclusively. Unsure of what size to order, I took Buster's actual dimensions while he slept, and determined that the medium sized bed would be best. With an inside measurement of 18" x 14" , it is small enough to offer him cozy comfort, but large enough for him to stretch out just a bit. Weighing in at just over 17 pounds(!), it seems to fit him perfectly. At first, I was a bit "put off" by the actual size of the heating element. At 8" x 9", it seemed small for the size of the bed. After weeks of observing the cat, I can happily report that the element appears to be just the right size. It allows him to adjust his position to where he is most comfortable, giving him heat where HE wants it. Of course, everyone would be happy with a heated bed during the long Michigan winter! The element is easily removed so the zippered bed cover can be slipped off and washed. It is plugged in around the clock.Three sides of the bed stand approximately 7" high. This offers something to cozy up next to, as well as giving the added feeling of security. The interior of the bed is lined with an ultra soft and touchable fabric. Like most cats, he prefers to be up off the floor, so the bed rests on a piece of furniture. The cost of the bed caused us to think twice about the purchase, but has proven to be money well spent. Buster is an indoor cat, but he seems somehow in a better mood of late. Does this bed comfort his old bones so much so as to relieve aches and pains? I guess we'll never know that for sure, but we give it five thumbs up!!

Soft, safe, warm comfort for our beloved fur babies.
My one kitty, a tabby, absolutely LOVES this product. She practically lives in it. The other one, my beloved Clyde, who had arthritis and I bought it for him, hated it. Sadly, we lost him 6 months ago, and I was trying to make his last days more comfy. I moved it all over the condo, and he ignored it for my bed. :)Our 15 yo tabby would find the bed wherever I put it. She claimed it as hers, throws up on it and eats from it. lol Lucky for us, it's completely machine washable. I just unplug it, pull out the heating pad from the cushion, and wash the cushion and bed. It comes out beautifully clean and soft every time. It's as bit of a pain putting it back together, as the hole for the plug is small (I'm thinking of making it a bit bigger) but it's not terrible. It heats us quickly, and gets to a nice toasty temp for the kids. It's also SAFE, which is most important to me. Not too hot, not a fire hazard. It was big enough for our 14 lb cat, with room to spare. Our 9 pound kitty is very happy stretching out in it. The walls come up on three of the sides to make her feel safe. The front opening is lower and she has no problem getting in and out of it even at her advanced age. I really think it helps her feel better.I highly recommend this product, well worth the money.

... and this is the first one I have been disappointed in. The sides are not filled with enough ...
Have purchased many K&H products over the years and this is the first one I have been disappointed in. The sides are not filled with enough stuffing which causes them to flop all over the place and the pillow is not big enough. Both of these issues create a big gap which my kitty falls into. This means she is laying on the hard floor. Not what she likes. Not what I paid $38 for. It really is worthless. My only hope of salvaging the mess is to use the pillow and heating pad to fluff up one of our K&H round thermo Kitty beds. Buy one of those instead. We have four and our cats love them and they last forever.

Stayed warm all winter!
I was looking for a heated bed for our 14 year old Shi-tzu. We've had the bed 4 months now and it has held up great. This bed is perfect for what we needed and I was being very picky while shopping. I like the fact that the cushion is plush and the heating strip is thin so when he lays down it's barely noticeable. Other heated beds I've been in contact with have a large coil going through the middle with foam as the base. When the foam breaks down the coils is left protruding. The bed is long enough that he can stretch out completely on his side and doesn't have to be curled into a ball. It's easy for him to get into and he is often found using the side as a head rest. Another concern of mine because of elderly bones. If I could be picky and add one extra option it would be to have the heat adjustable. We occasionally find him laying on the floor directly in front of the bed which leads me to think he is getting too warm. We have decided that this summer we are going to remove the heating strip for the season (easy enough to do). The cord is kind of cumbersome, but I hide the excess behind the bed. Otherwise this has been money well spent. I would definitely purchase another one.

Dog likes it.
I've been dog sitting for the past week and my daughter's min-pin chihuahua LOVES this bed! It doesn't get very warm at all, but I think she just loves the comfort of the bed itself. Whenever we're upstairs you can find her in this bed while the other dogs are on my bed!

Où est la chaleur. where is the heat?
not even warm, même pas tiède. Je ne conseille pas ce produit. Très cher pour un cousin que je considère bien ordinaire. I would not recommend this product. Very expensive for a dog bed that I consider very ordinary .
