Good value. There is a lot of information for the beginner to intermediate Access user. The instruction is clear, concise and is broken down into short segments. Great for reference resource. I would recommend this training course.

Great beginner to intromeadiate course
Kirt Kershaw does a great job teaching. I really like videos rather than reading some book. I'm not a beginner and would have liked a second volume that was more advanced lessons, macro's and included web databases. I would buy that today!

Kirt Kershaw knocks them dead
Video Trainer Access 2010, simply stated, is the best vehicle I have seen to help users learn the ins and outs of this Microsoft application. Mr. Kershaw is the working definition of a teacher: 1/3 knowledge, 1/3 skill, 1/3 entertainment: he knows his material, is skilled at presenting it, and holds the students interest while doing so. From K-12 on up, education is a series of building blocks. What you learn at one level is often the foundation for the next. And across the board, this is the greatest flaw in education today - if a student fails to comprehend a building block in a foundation class, grasping related concepts in more advanced presentations are that much harder. This is not an issue with Video trainer Access 2010. The course is divided into three levels of training - Basic, Intermediate and Master. Within each level are mini-video presentations, each concentrating on one aspect of Access 2010. The student viewing Advanced Tables in in Level 2, or Level 3, can easily return to an earlier video in Level 1 or 2 to reinforce an earlier building block if need be. This technique allows the student to view each video until they are comfortable with the topic covered. And, because his voice is so easy on the ears, repeated viewings of a topic are not problematic. Finally, there is a PDF with Instructors notes for each level (which I recommend be printed and kept close at hand to add your own notes as the sections are viewed). There is a Student Question PDF and an accompanying Instructor Answer PDF for each level. Finally, where appropriate, there are exercises for the lesson which can be done in concert with the video presentation. Look no further for a top notch vehicle with which to learn Microsoft Access 2010. (There is an equally excellent training video available for Excel 2010 and the balance of Office 2010 applications - Word, PowerPoint and Outlook - will be available later in the year).

Changed my mind
After attempting to learn from this video, I've become really frustrated. I still think it's too fast for the average learner to get much out of it without pausing, pausing, pausing until that gets really tiresome. I've been through the entire course and still do not know how to create a simple form for a user I do not wish to add or edit records to put a street name or other search text into a window and have all the records display with that street name. Or place buttons on the form to open different record text searches. Really!! He always uses the navigational arrows at the bottom and that does not accomplish anything except moving from one record to the next. What if I want to find all records for a particular location of clients with all of each's purchases in a sub form? Did I miss something? This most basic form (is it combo box, a split form, or what!!) does not seem to appear anywhere in this training DVD. I've had to go to other online sources to learn this. The only thing I've gained from this DVD are some tricks and shortcuts, but the speed in which this is taught is just ridiculous to someone who isn't already an IT guru who probably doesn't need the training in the first place. Who is the target audience?

Excellent Microsoft Access 2010 Training
This is a hands-on-project learning method. You don't have to read countless pages to get to what you actually need to learn Access 2010. Kirt Kershaw has the ability to get all the concepts across in a non-boring way, making the learning process easier. The fact that the training is divided into short, but to the point video sessions, makes it easy for me, as a busy professional, to follow and learn on my spare time. It's like there's always something new for me to learn every time I'm watching one of the videos. Everything you need to know to pass the Microsoft Access 2010 Certification is contained within this video training. The fact that the exercises he uses on the videos are included in the package as a bonus is a huge plus. I have dual monitor system, and I can actually watch the expert Kirt Kershaw on one screen and then follow whatever he's doing on the other screen. And unlike any training you pay for out there, you can always have access to the training sessions by rewinding it as many times as you want until you get it, isn't that amazing?I do want to thank Kirt Kershaw for having made this available at an affordable price. I can't wait for him to complete the Word 2010 Training. I'll be definitely buying it.

Best Training on Access!
By far, the best training on Microsoft Access! The steps in this video are simple to use and easy to follow for beginners to advanced users of Access. I was thoroughly impressed with the content. I had minimal knowledge of Microsoft Access but wanted to learn more. I started from the beginning and worked through the advanced training. The training is easy to follow. I watched the entire video first and then went back and started each section for the "official" training. I like the way the contents are set up. If I forget how to do a specific function, I can simply click on that function and replay the contents. I don't have to perform a massive search. I may not be an expert yet in Microsoft Access but with this training video, I'm on my way! Beats reading books and sitting in a classroom. And the price can't be beat. I highly recommend this training video for anyone wanted to learn Microsoft Access.Although I am an advanced user of Microsoft Excel, I am going to purchase the Excel Training video as well by DreamForce LLC, the developer of the Access training video. Something tells me I'll learn a lot more than I already know.
