Proven from years of research, the patented Nasal Sanitizer Nozaseptin formula combines the safe, proven, antiseptic power of ethyl alcohol with the emollient, antioxidant benefits of natural oils. Nozin Nasal Sanitizer is also broadly accepted by patients and those who care for them as the result of its pleasant citrus scent, gentle and highly moisturizing application effect to the nasal opening, while maintaining potent antimicrobial effectiveness. Unlike other common antibiotic options, the Nozin Nasal Sanitizer does not promote antibiotic resistance as it utilizes non-selective antiseptic action of ethanol. Some key benefits of using Nozin are: Reduction of SSI during surgery. ICU Decolonization. Replacement of MRAS CP. Reduction of HAI. Increased facility ROI. Nozin Bottle. 30 Day supply. Use every 8-12 hours to decolonize for MRSA and Staph.

We shall see...
Okay, so the doc does some tests and decides I have a staph infection, probably picked up during a past surgery. She says staphylococci like to dwell in the nose (and indeed tests to confirm this is true in my annoying case) and gives me an antibiotic cream. She also would like to dose me with a systemic antibiotic to which I happen to be allergic; I decide I'd druther take my chances with the bug than guarantee making myself good and sick. A little research (I'm a technical editor and so know the difference between science and woo-woo) reveals that staph microbes are highly susceptible, topically, to ethanol (the kind of alcohol you drink -- not rubbing alcohol, which enhances their biofilm and makes the little guys even harder to get rid of). Ethanol is the active ingredient in this stuff. High-test ethanol, which in most states you can get at a large, well-stocked liquor store (no, it is not really drinkable), is a little harsh when you apply around the nostrils. This Nozin product contains 62% alcohol plus some emollients that (in my case, anyway) prevent it from irritating the skin around the nose. Studies that I found showed reduction of staph colonies of between 80% and 100%, which is far better than anything else. Remember, however, that decolonization is not the same as elimination: if you have an established infection and you're not allergic to antibiotics, you should take the pills.
