Hayward HAXHXA1253 H250 Heat Exchanger Assembly Replacement for Hayward H-Series Ed2 Style Pool Heater

After 7 months of use, the copper eroded away and is leaking. Hayward customer service is absolutely terrible. Been trying for 2 weeks to get this replaced under warranty. Still no result. You would think it would be much better quality for $900. Hayward tried to blame me saying that my water chemistry is off when its always been as close to perfect as possible. They also tried to say that the problem was too much water flow when i have the same size pump as almost every pool in America. Amazon would return this item but for a $240 "restocking" fee. To me that's unacceptable! This item will not be "restocked" and it doesn't cost $240 to put it in a box and back into stock. Who would "restock" and sell a broken item anyway? I'd give 0 stars if I could just so you save your money

My old unit started leaking. I called a pool service and the price would have been $1500 minimum. So I decided to try it myself.The unit fit perfectly and was exactly the same as the 10 year old original. It was pretty easy to do, the only time consuming part was taking apart the heater cabinet. You will need a strap wrench to remove the intake and outtake fittings. The heat exchanger comes with replacement O-rings and a new pressure sensor tube. All of the wiring is just plug and play. It is much more efficient since it is all brand new shinny copper and no accumulated dirt between the fins. Highly Recommended.

Looks great and price was okay, but worked for only 3 weeks. It started to leak three weeks after installation! Looks like my money were simply taken away.

Fit well, some parts looked like they might not have been 100% brand new, but the core did look brand new. Easy to install if you are handy. No leaks, heater works much faster with a new, uncorroded core. Original core lasted 7 seasons, I hope this one does!

Purchased a Hayward Heat Exchanger and it began leaking in less than 3 months. Hayward does not stand by their product and is very difficult to work with.

They last only few months

It was advertised as "used" but was brand new that someone returned for an unkown reason. it was 60% less than new. GREAT BUY!!!! Pool heater is like brand new.

Excellent packaging, perfect fit and fairly easy to install.“Someone” didn’t drain the water from the pool heater last fall and this part of the pool heater split and was pouring out water. Was an expensive lesson but the pool heater was back up and running in about 1 hour after receiving this part.

I am a bit of a 'Mr. Fixit', and replacing our older H250 pool heater when the heat exchanger started leaking did not make sense to me.It was easy enough to take the heater apart, and to replace just what needed replacing... you wouldn't throw out the whole car because it need a new radiator, would you?The replacement part arrived quickly, and was a perfect match to the old one... I'm sure I'll get at least another decade out of our old heater, for less than half the cost of replacing the whole unit.

Original damaged one was shipped at a reduced price... it ended up leaking they re shipped a new one at no extra cost Awsome service

This heat exchanger came on time and in good shape. However it contained an oversized O ring that caused it to leak. I used the O ring from the part I replaced and all is good now. Hard to believe it was sent from the factory with the wrong sized O ring.

It does exactly what I wanted it to do and what it was designed to do. No lemons in this fruit basket.
