Although these state that they are 100% cotton, they are very stretchy so there must be some kind of elastic in them. They feel nice, but they are very short, like tennis socks. Since they have no heel and are stretchy, they fit like a tube sock. Therefore, the height is determined by how much of the sock your foot takes up.

Comfortable mittens for your feet. No pain due to compression like with toe socks' bulky seams.
Identical review for these as for the grey-colored pair. Toe-socks' seams make my toes hurt, so I cannot wear them. These Tabi socks are like mittens for your feet, so there are no restricting seams between your toes. Wonderful for mild Winters in South Texas, where I wear flip-flops year-round. I have washed them four times, and have had no fading and only a slight shrinkage, which made them conform to my feet better. Will definitely buy more in every color.

Breathable and comfortable
I purchased these for my husband to go along with the Japanese Sandals and he loves them. He has never been one that likes the "toe socks" but he likes wearing these. He stated that they are very breathable and are actually comfortable. They are durable enough to be washed in the regular laundry, do not need to do anything special.
