This is a good way to get some exercise while sitting down, great if you have an office job, you can use it under your desk. It is great for easy pedaling, I am recovering from a knee injury, and this is a great way to get my knee moving without putting pressure on it. It stays in place for me, but I think that if my son, who is an athlete, were to use it, it may not stay in place. Personally, I recommend it for physical therapy for those of us recovering from an injury or illness but for an athlete or those in very good physical shape, this is probably not for you. It is very easy to assemble and can be used for legs and arms

Bought for my 89 year old mother. It is perfect for the elderly. I actually bought another one for me.

I just received the exerciser and the assembly way easy. One reason I purchased this one was for the digital display. Unfortunately it does not work. I purchased it for arm therapy and it will work for that, but I will have to use my own timer. I would not purchase this item again. What a disappointment.Update: 3/16/2019: The seller contacted me about the problem with the digital display and had a new one shipped to me. Got it quickly ( from China). Installed and works great. I use this every day and it served my needs perfectly. Good job.

The exercise pedals work, but this device is not particularly suitable for rehabilitation after knee surgery. The light weight weight and lack of an internal flywheel result in instability when the pedals are pushed with significant resistance or when pedaling at a rate other than slow. Increasing the tension is apparently accomplished by tightening a friction belt or strap inside the device. There does not appear to be a true free-wheeling flywheel, so the pedaling action is different from that of a regular bicycle or a more expensive stationary bike.My goal in buying this type of device was to obtain an inexpensive mini-exercise bike for rehabilitation after knee surgery. My full-size home exercise bike has a pedal stroke length that is too long and is not adjustable. The pedal stroke length of this portable mini-exercise is short (about right for early knee rehab), but the instability and awkward cycling action makes the device unpleasant to use. I suppose you could use this device for simply rotating the pedals with no resistance, but it is not feasible to build strength by increasing resistance and speed.In fairness, it's probably not reasonable to expect a heavy-duty pedal device with a robust flywheel for this low price. You get what you pay for!

Product was ok but you really have to be at the right angle to make it work properly. I wanted to use it under my desk at work, no go, my knees kept hitting under my desk. Tension doesn’t get very tight. I use it at home occasionally while sitting on the couch watching TV. It’s not very heavy, which is good when you want to move it around but not good when you are trying to push peddles and get in a cardio workout. I kept having to pull it back closer to me because it was sliding away.

It took me ten minutes to set it up. It's light weighted and I can easily carry it around. An adjustable resistance knob in front allows controlling the level of resistance and workout intensity desired. I will give it to my mother who can't walk on her own. It could help her to exercise her legs and knees, strengthen leg muscles.

TL;DR: pedals get hot, digital display does not work properly, no stability, makes horrible squeaking sound—> buy a cheaper one with no display and a wider base or a pricier one more likely to work properly, or just don’t buy anything: this is a waste of money/time returningI have had all the issues other users have reported in their reviews.The metal connectors that attach the pedals get hot after a short period of use.The digital display does not work properly— while it does come on it does not keep an accurate account of elapsed time, and will count up about 5-10 seconds of every minute (I don’t know how accurate the other measures are; the mileage is VERY far off my stationary bike for a similar time period). Tracking time passed seems like the minimum standard for accuracy and this is way, WAY off. It’s not even consistently off. Considering the models that did not have a digital display are much cheaper, this is not acceptable. I am using it as I work from home, so the absolutely horrify loud noise it regularly makes isn’t an issue for anyone but me, but I would not have been able to use it AT ALL if I were trying to use it at a desk in any sort of public work station or even in a building with a shared wall.It is not too bad on carpet or up against a wall or with a desk to support it, but it has no stability of its own. If you try to place it in front of you on a hard wood or laminate floor without a solid surface in front of it it slides around completely freely. Additionally you have to be high enough over top of it so that your feet don’t bash into whatever you have placed in front of it to hold it in place, meaning you have to find a tall chair on carpet near a wall to have any hope of using it.Other reviewers have said this folds up for easy transport, and they must have a different model. This does not fold up. It is small and light and relatively easy to move around. It was not too difficult to set up but did require assembling with tools, and the pedals were not easy to attach since they had to be screwed on at a strange angle. There were no directions anywhere for assembling the digital display, which has a wire that has to be connected from one section to another before it will work, and that was very easy to do but not immediately obvious (it’s possible that this wire is supposed to be connected already and had just come loose in my unit).

This is a gift for my friend. He loves it! It is portable so he puts it in his living room. It is not that big, easy to use - you can use it whenever you want. It is steady on the rug. He used it for one month - it helped him to keep fit and lose some weight! Really recommend as a gift!
