BobelockHalf Moon 1047V 4/4 Violin Case with Wine Velvet Interior

Love this case! Quality. Excellent zippers. Beautiful fabric. No chemical smell inside the case -- so, many other brands have an awful smell of glues, etc when you open the case. Excellent suspension padding. Bow spinners are over the pocket instead of the violin. Great layout and size.Only problem was the rain flap -- it's very hard to snap or unsnap. Other reviewers have mentioned same problem. It appears to be sewn too tightly/defectively so it does not align with the snaps properly. So, I'm leaving it unsnapped at all times. It still functions as a rain flap as it hugs the case tightly. But, I find the flap to be more "in the way" than anything else when you open the case. I'd rather either a flap that can be snapped closed easily (magnets would be great) or none at all. But, aside from that issue, this is a 5 star case! Highly recommend.

I just go this case today and while I love the interior set-up and pockets etc, it's already broken. How??? The snaps on the exterior were really tight. I successfully opened them a couple of times, but then there was one that really seemed stuck. I pulled on it with just my fingers (no tool or anything) and the screw holding the snap in the wall of the case came right out!!! Now I will have to see if I can return it. Ironically I want the exact same case again, and hopefully the snaps will not bust. I just like how the thing is set up...

This is a great case and we have been very happy w/ it (purchased for child to take to school every day). It's protection is excellent, has lots of interior space for extras, and is a nice plush purple velvet interior that looks classy and not cheap (and kind of personalizes the case as different colors are available). I also am very happy w/ the construction. This case is going on 14 months of hard use now and is not showing any signs of wear. The snaps are functioning perfectly, nothing has broken, and there is no discoloration of the materials. My only complaint is that it is very heavy. This is not a problem now that my daughter is older and almost full grown (It's a good workout just carrying it) but for a smaller kid I can see it being a problem because it is quite heavy.

This is the 3rd Bobelock case I've purchased (not that I've had to replace any - they're for different instruments) and I've been happy with them each and every time. I've played professionally since 1993, and owned violin cases from a few different brands. For my money, I feel like Bobelock is as good as it gets while still remaining affordable to the average household.

Would highly recommend this type of case and brand. My two children are classical violinists and have used their cases very successfully for the last 10 years.I now had to buy another for my and there was no question as to what kind of case we would buy !

This is a sturdy and also attractive violin case. It is on the heavy side for me. I would recommend when purchasing a case to check the weight before getting it. The material that covers the handle is beginning to split at the seam, which surprises me, since a case is meant to be portable. I ended up also buying a lighter case to take with me when travelling.
