Tape Measure with Fractions – Tape Measure Double Sided Metric and Inches, Dual Lock Releases, Measuring Tape with Magnetic Hook, Self-Locking, Metal Casing, 27 FT X 8 M

This is bigger than you're expecting it to be, but it's a 27 foot tape. It has a "horn" of sorts that embodies the lock mechanisms both over and under the tape in that part of the casing. This has inch on the top side and metric on the back side. On either side of the tape, the upper and the lower of the tape are marked with the same scales. Many inch/metric tapes will have both on each side of the tape. If you marked 9/16" on the lower, you'll be trying to mark 14.287mm on the upper. To put it another way, it will help you to observe that your tape is square with a line or an edge if you can verify that it intersects the same mark on both upper and lower part of the tape. The magnets on the hook aren't very strong and seem a little gimmicky unless you need to measure metal stud walls or some other type of framing. The hook is large and could end up being caught on this or that but a two sided hook is required for a two sided tape. I live in US, but I'm going to be using this to measure in mm for welding and carpentry. It's just so much easier and more accurate.I write reviews just to get your "Helpful" votes. I've been in the construction business for most of my life and this, I'm not so sure would last too long. The magnet isn't strong and won't even pick up my pin knife, which is pretty light. The numbers are decent and easy to read.I'm keeping this one for the house where my wife and children can use it instead of using my good ones..lol...

I bought this measuring tape so that I could have it in my house as a back up tape. I already have one but I always can’t find it. This measuring tape is easy to use and straightforward. It retracts and extends smoothly.

Great tool! It feels like it will last. My first choice out ot the tool box.

From the moment I started using this I saw its main fault the bottom release, when you set it down it automatically retracts under its own weight and won't let me finish measuring, same thing on a wall. After a week of use the spring is so weak I cant get it too keep in its place. After a month it won't retract without me pulling it in. And last but not least you cant make it reach more than 5 feet without it folding down on itself. It's made me so frustrated that I had to chuck it in the air but hey it didn't shatter so that's the only positive I see in this.

The magnets break off it too easily , I magnet not very strong barely holds its self to an Metal surface, self locking does not hold very well it still coils it self back up slowly

Love the dual tape release . The tape extends out about 8 ft before bending . But the autolock doesn't work

The DAYOU 27' tape measure is a great item with several innovative features. It has a metal case with rubber hand grips that nests nicely in your hand. It has a two sided tape with inches on one side and centimeters on the other. The inches are graduated in 1/16" on one edge and 1/32" on the opposite edge. The metric scale is graduated in mm. The tape is equipped with a wrist band to prevent dropping, and the hook has two magnets to hold it firmly in place against a steel piece. It has dual releases, one up front and to other on the bottom. It feels sturdy and you can expect it to be every bit as durable as the Stanley 25' tape measure.

I was looking for a stable tape measure to help with replacing rain water guttering. The tape arrives in a fancy box and certainly first impressions are good with the overall quality looking very good. Problems are only obviuos once you start to use on a job. The tape has two return buttons which means if you are feeding out the tape you cannot keep the body on a surface in a normal manner (ie along a roof at the top of a ladder) as it keeps wanting to recoil. The tapes metric side is even more diificult to feed unsupported for very far. In the end I had to revert to my old Stanley FatMax although for other applicaitons (ie on a bench,ground) this tape worked fine and the dual scale can be useful once you get to using it to. I will be using it again but next time I need to buy a new tape will probbaly go back to a 32mm wide FatMax......

On the top side of this you have imperial measurements, feet inches and fractions up to 27ft. The other side is metric, centimetres millimetres but strangely enough no markings for metres! and this extends to 800cm which equals 8 Metres. When this is pulled out it holds but it can be released by either of 2 buttons one on the top and one underneath. This has a magnetic hook that with one hand I pushed against a radiator and extended the measure and this held well, a good feature. I like this tape measure, it has a metal casing, strap and belt clip and although it’s heavy it feels robust and it comes with a lifetime guarantee.

This is an excellent tape measure, so many functions that you would probably not think about having on a tape measure.Its stays put when you pull it out and only collapses when you push the button, the inches side of the tape is well incremented, it is a bit weird to have the centimeter measurements on the opposite side but hopefully I will get used to it.The actual tape is very strong, it's not easy to bend so does not collapse easily either.Very happy should last a lifetime especially since it guaranteed.

The metric measurements are on the underneath of the tape measure making it extremely difficult to use. Unfortunately due to circumstances I missed the deadline to return it, so it is now going in the bin. Total waste of money.

Love the fact this is double sided giving you ease when measuring. The measure is strong and feels really good quality, it has a button to push to bring the tape back in that when you release it the tape stays at that point again.Wide and very long for measuring everywhere needed.
