EXPLORES THE MANY ASPECTS OF FAAS!!
Are you a beginner in the field of frequency-agile antennas (FAAs)? If you are, then this book is for you. Author Aldo Petosa, has done an outstanding job of writing a book that provides the reader with a sense of the capabilities of FAAs, the widely diverse methods for achieving tunability, the current achievable performance, and the challenges still facing FAA designs.Author Petosa, begins by defining the various parameters that are used to quantify the performance of FAAs. Next, the author presents an overview of the most common antenna elements suitable for FAAs for wireless communication applications. Then, he examines the various tuning methods being considered for FAAs. He continues by examining the FAAs based on the mechanical actuation. The author then looks at the FAAs that incorporate tunable substrates. Next, he covers the use of electronic devices for achieving FAA designs with continuous frequency tuning. Finally, the author reviews the FAAs that are designed for discrete frequency tuning. This most excellent book explores the many aspects of FAAs, including the metrics that are used to evaluate their performance, the most commonly used antenna elements, the wide variety of mechanisms for achieving tenability, and a comprehensive survey of diverse examples of FAA designs. Furthermore, many of the FAAs surveyed in this terrific book were designed to operate in one or more of the services that were covered.
