This product works really well!! If you have your hair highlighted or colored blonde, using this product extends the blonde look...shiny and healthy looking to boot. When we have our hair done, it is really expensive, so getting the most for your money/time is important. It certainly does this for myself and my daughters. It is recommended that one use it once a week, but I do occasionally use it more than once with no ill effects. The price is superb! Try pricing it away from Amazon...ouch!!! I couldn't afford to use it for three of us if not for the pricing available here. It is a "blueing" shampoo, so be careful to use in the shower, not at the sink. When you dispense using the convenient pump, hold your hand there and wipe your fingers over the spout to get rid of drips...and wipe up any drips as soon as you are able to avoid a light staining that eventually wears away. It is not a shampoo that lathers up a lot...and I do a follow up shampoo with my regular shampoo, followed with conditioner to get whatever effects I need from them. Excellent product and economical in this size and from Amazon.

Whether you are a natural blonde, or in the process of becoming one, this product is for you. This was recommended to me by my stylist while i was in the process of lightening my hair. I had tried several other products before this, but this one seems to work the best! This product is great for taking out the brassy tones that you get in between dyes. It also helps to lighten the hair after a dye. The shampoo is a dark purple, and actually has a pleasant smell unlike some of the other products that i have tried. I doubt that i will ever switch to another shampoo after this one because of the great results that i have had while using it.

Love this shampoo. I recently completed by chemotherapy and of course lost my hair. After several months, my hair started growing and coming in with a salt and pepper color. With more salt than pepper. My friend, hairdresser, recommended this product to keep the white/silver from going yellow. I started using the product and my hair has stayed white/silver with no yellow and it is stunning. I get many compliments on the color. I am going to keep the color as I am 74+ years old and I now share the shampoo with my husband whose hair is pure white. He is a fan as well. Love this product. It is a positive side to my chemo hair.

I usually buy this product locally for close to the same price. Have been using it for quite sometime. I am prematurely gray trying to be blonde. It is a great price for what I usually purchase the generic for... I saved a small size bottle and just refill it from the large pump bottle, makes more room in shower. The shop where I normally purchase told me to hold off purchasing because it was going on sale the next week. When I returned the entire line was on sale except for this particular product, they would not honor the sale price, so I am not feeling bad about not keeping this purchase local. Just bad business. And I found a better deal all the way around. It did arrive opened and leaked into the plastic packaging, bottle not broken. I just used what leaked into the plastic bag, waste not, want not...no harm no foul

I used to intensely bleach my hair almost to the point of it being white and in some highlighted areas, it was light enough that with the help of this shampoo, my hair did turn platinum. I hate when my hair gets too yellowy or if my hair is a bit brassy after bleaching and this shampoo helps correct that so easily. I honestly haven't tried anything else to correct those yellow tones, but thankfully, I haven't had to look farther than Shimmer Light. I read my share of reviews on the product and I haven't looked back. I've been using it for about three years now (I'm on my third bottle) with an eight month or so break when I went brunette, but now that I'm back to blonde, this came back to being a part of my weekly upkeep.So about me: I have long fine hair that reaches about four inches below my collarbone. Naturally my hair is a light ash brown and I bleach it about every three months when I can't tolerate my regrowth any longer.I usually start by washing my hair with my regular shampoo (Mane and Tail) or I just wash once quickly with Shimmer Light and then I squirt a large amount into my hand and massage it thoroughly into my hair. I clip my hair up and proceed to shower the rest of my body and after about five or six minutes I'll rinse out my hair and condition. Even from one use, there's usually a pretty obvious difference in tone of color with a lot of that yellowy gold removed.Don't be surprised by its super purply color. It's heavily pigmented and a very true purple/almost indigo, but it has to be in order to cancel out the yellowy tones in your hair. Basic knowledge of a color wheel tells you that yellow and purple are opposite and therefore they'll cancel when layered together. That's the whole basis of this shampoo to tone your colors down to the shade you want by removing the yellows, but don't use it too often once you're getting close to the end of those pigments in your hair. Once you're white, you'll start to get gray/lavender if you deposit too much pigment in your hair by continuing the shampoo, so at that point just back off and only use it if you're looking yellow.I only use this shampoo once a week or so. It's really drying and my hair is already so heavily processed that it doesn't take nicely to the harshness of the shampoo. I generally deep condition immediately after just to give my hair a chance to recover. I'm no longer aiming for platinum, so I don't have to use this as often and my hair thanks me immensely for that, but if I'm feeling too yellowy, I always have a bottle of this stashed somewhere within reach. So all in all, I would recommend this product and I will continue to purchase it as I need to in order to keep it stocked, but with my use, this bottle will probably last me five months or so. Just be aware that it is very drying.

This sure did the trick! Every time I washed my hair with this shampoo, it neutralized the blonde brass. I have thick asian hair so I had a lot of red to take out to get that ash blonde affect. I originally tried to do it myself, but finally ended up going to my salon to do a color correction. I purchased this based on a recommendation from a youtube video. So glad I did! My recommendation would be to not wash more than once a week if you already have dryer, damaged hair. I made this mistake of using it every time I washed and it did dry out the hair. Once I got into a normal routine of once a week, it worked beautifully. My hair retained that ashy color I was going for. I am now going back to brunette, but if I ever go blonde again, I will be repurchasing!

I've used this products for a few years now and I love it. It takes the brass out of blonde and now that I'm silver - it keeps it from going yellow. This time it was not packaged properly. The lid was loose and product had leaked out.Not a enough to send back, but it was all over the container. But I highly recommend the product.

I have been using this shampoo (plus conditioner) for more than a year. I started using when I decided to stop colouring my hair and I had a lot of grey. I was really happy with the result- this shampoo has greatly eased the transition, makes my hair shiny and highlighted as similar to an silver ash blonde. Definitely recommend especially if you had lighter coloured hair and lots of grey.
