EquisoStreaming Smart Stick

The Equiso Smart TV is a very strong product that is working well so far. Albeit the company was over a month delayed in shipping the item, the Equiso Smart TV itself is fulfilling my needs. I have it connected to my WiFi and can access Netflix, YouTube, Network files (using ES File Explorer), and Games (although I have not played any on the Equiso yet, just opened). Once I have had some more time with it, I will update accordingly.My Experience:1. (NOTE) The Equiso needed more power than what was provided by the USB port on my TV and therefore, I had to use the outlet to USB adapter for power. (It would just continue to reboot until I changed the power source.)2. (NOTE) If using Google 2-Factor authentication, you will need to generate a application specific password to add your Google account.3. (CON) While it has performed well so far, it is sluggish (taking up to 5 seconds to perform a click task or open some apps). However, it has not crashed with anything yet.4. (NOTE) I WOULD RECOMMEND THE PRO VERSION FOR THE 1GB OF RAM. Well this is what I wish I had gotten now, for the better performance, but this one does work fine, just slower (i'm guessing).5. (NOTE) The devices is NOT ROOTED out of the box, but Equiso has stated on Update 8 of their Kickstarter that they will be providing a rooted rom on there website.6. (PRO) The remote is very nice! It is responsive, and having the full keyboard is great. My only complaint is that it is supper light (too light) which makes it hard to handle for my big hands.7. (PRO) Both Netflix and YouTube have played HD videos without issue.8. (CON) Customer Support from Equiso the company has lacked though. It may just be the busy rush right at release, so time will have to tell. Also there is no website yet, it just forwards to their facebook page with some wall posts.9. (CON) With no website, there is no ROOTED rom yet. :(TL,DR: Equiso Smart TV works great, while slightly laggy, and is not ROOTED. Buy the PRO version.

it's a good ideal but in practice it is completely cheap everything from the cheap plastic housing to the very In adequate Wi-Fi I don't have a large house but I like a good Wi-Fi signal therefore I use 2 routers to have strong signals everywhere I have a 30 MB connection from cable...using the extension cable with the equiso on my TV I never have more than 1.2 or1.3 MB download (Usually less) connection but I can show an upload near my max of 5 MB no matter if I'm using my laptop my tablet or my phone in or outside my house I have a very strong Wi-Fi connection but not with this equuiso when you plug the power cable into it it is hit or miss you have to be very careful and hope you don't break the power connection inside and don't keep it near anything you don't want to burn down this thing gets extremely hot and as far as I can tell the only way to turn it off Is to unplugg the power connection there is so much more I'd like to warn you about but if you'd really like to know more just search for equiso forums it's pretty sad to say that when the people in the forum's have so little good to say and the developers are nonexistent to add feedback to the forum supposedly they've had 2 ota updates but whatever they were Haven't improved this item or Software I really had Hopes for this product maybe down the road there will be improvements but for right now all I can say about this product is cheap

When I first got this, it drove me crazy. After going to the facebook page and trying some of the things suggested (mainly the speed test) it picked up. I mostly watch Netflix on it so there is no problem. There are times when my cell phone will cancel out the wifi but it is more often not than regular. My saved websites work pretty well. All in all for the price I must say I like it and would buy the improved model as well.

Great product - easy set up (but no instructions) - excellent value. Amazing what this small unit can do. Full Google Play store access. Youtube, Netflix, Chrome browser, etc, no problems

I paid this thing for $70 and I barely use it. The only cool thing of this is the fact that it is a android on your tv. Sometimes, the keyboard would never work and the cursor wouldn't work at all.

Owned 1st one 4 yrs. Loved it! Turns 46in TV into super sized tablet. Streaming great! Keyboard is tiny and finicky, but workable. Had to have another one. Best streamer on the market! Price is great 4 what it does. Recommends Equiso over all! Hope this answers your question. Thanks!

Update: I've had some contact with these guys and they're working hard to get these out. Looking forward to trying it out.This is a great concept and I was very excited when I read about the features on several tech sites. I ordered in July, when it became available on Amazon and the expected ship date was a window of time about a week or so long. Perfectly reasonable for a new product like this and I understand that when you're launching something, there can be some uncertainty. Then, in August I received an Amazon notification that my Equiso had "shipped". No additional tracking or shipping info, again just an estimated arrival window. Ok, that's fine, again, new product, etc etc. Now, more than a month after my Equiso was "shipped", I've received no product and worse yet, no communication from the seller whatsoever. Now, I question whether this product even exists. I've sent my concerns to Equiso via Kickstarter and if I don't receive a reasonable response, I'll move forward with contesting these charges. In the future, Amazon could do a little more to make sure that it's sellers actually have a physical product to sell. If you're interested in this product, wait until people post reviews of the actual device, and not just "This is gonna be awesome!"
