This is a very nicely built unit. I could not get it to hang up or bind in any position. I took it apart after playing with it a little bit. The whole gimbal assembly is a sealed unit containing fluid and there is a generous expansion chamber at the top. You can see some of the brass mechanism through the back of the unit but it is not clear enough to make out any details other than "brass components inside".There is an LED light and a spare battery. The horizontal scale turns to set level and the base pivots fore and aft to set pitch level. The LED, switch and wiring will not survive out in the rain but packing the switch and battery compartment with Silicone grease would probably solve that problem. The sealed gimbal unit could survive deep submersion and is totally separated from the LED assembly.I purchased this to mount on my Paramotor Trike to gather performance data, mostly on pitch. I know there is an app for that for my phone but I find most times a dedicated physical device is more reliable and less trouble and never stops to update/spy.This is not a replacement for a gyroscopic artificial horizon. With this you could be a in coordinated turn or a slow roll over and in a dive and this will still show perfectly level. Not much better that a weight on a string in that respect. Would work as a turn bank indicator to indicate a coordinated turn but that is really overthinking things as most people are going to mount this in their Jeep.The photos show the disassembled unit to be really good quality. The LED is turned on in the last photo.

This is a nice product and in many situations could be keeping you out of trouble if you are an off roader.

It's a weighted sphere on a gimbal, with no buffering. It works great if you are stopped or moving very slowly over even surfaces. Take a turn too fast and centrifugal force skews the reading. Stop too fast, accelerate too fast, skews the reading.It's nicely built but, unless it's stationary, it's useless.

Useless for a car. Perhaps would be useful on a boat.

Cheap product

This was billed as a compass and inclinometer. It doesn't even pretend to be a compass, which is what I need. I have tried several compasses and hoped this would work, but no luck.

Easy install good product does the job!
