Excellent high quality tamper and base. Perfect fit for DeLonghi 51mm Dedica EC685 coffee chamber/handle. Resting chamber/handle on edge of the base makes a perfect site to tamp the coffee against. Was in 2 minds about the need for a tamper but delighted to have bought it, a great product[This tamper had no reviews and was a long way down the list when I bought it. Amazon has started to sell large amounts of poor quality Chinese goods that usually fail to meet the PRime shipping times (and which don't have to pay full postage unlike more local firms giving them an unfair price advantage - which I am not sure is worth the inconvenience and poor quality). THese poor products seem to end higher up the list. This tamper appears to be made in Germany. Either way it is solid, heavy stainless steel and I am really impressed with it. I suggest trying to stick to quality products as far as possible and avoiding as much as possible the poor Chinese products being overpromoted by Amazon (and ebay etc) these days. Regards

I was scpetical that a tamper could make much difference and even more so that different tampers would be distinguisible.... but I was wrong. This is a quality tamper made from a sinlge lump of heavy metal (so there's nothing to rust inside, unlike many cheaper models) with a useful pad to dock it on (which I also thought would be a waste of time... but I was wrong about that too). It is just the right weight to make perfect pucks each time simply by lying it on top of the ground coffee and rotating it through 360 degrees. So there you have it; it really is worth spending that little bit extra for this quality tamper!

I have a plastic tamper built into my machine. But, I was finding, that the ground coffee was sticking to it and consequently ending up all over the worktop.Although buying a decent tamper isn't that cheap, in my opinion, it's worth the investment.This compacts the coffee well and I don't end up with mess everywhere!The quality is good and I like the fact, that it has its own base to sit on.Very pleased with my purchase.Just for information, the tamper weighs 534g on my scale.

Solid coffee tamper, very well finished and is a really good weight, the stand is an added bonus, looks great next to my silver espresso machine and other silver accessories, and works really well.

Really lovely quality. Nice weight to it. Takes a bit of getting used to if you're like me and have never been a professional barista.
