How cool is this thing?
It's brilliantly designed and skillfully crafted. Makes a ton of sense. I don't really need this to plant anything but, it was really cool looking so I bought it. The one they sent me however has a chrome point not black as the photo is showing. I had this idea to plunge this thing into the earth further than needed so there will be a nice space under the degradable cup I plant. Giving the root system more air and space to grow. Crazy? Probably but it gave me a darn good reason to but this thing.

Great tool!
This is a great tool for planting bulbs. And the handy cord can be tied on to a belt clip so it doesn't get left behind in your garden.

Great Planing Tool
Great for planting bulbs and flowers. Just put it in the ground and move it around to make the hole the right size for planting. My granfather had something similar for planting tobaco plants on teh farm when i was a kid. This is an improved design if what grandad used and reinforced with a metal covering for durablility.

Useful well made product.
I use this product mainly to aerate the soil, add Mycorrizal products, liquid or solid fertilizers to the root zone.I wish it was little more longer. The T handle is better than curved handles of some other products. You can also water in to the holes it makes in summer months insteaed of surface watering.Works well for my intended purpose.

Dibber
Used it to plant native grass plugs and worked great. My soil is pretty loose so it goes into the ground fairly easily. Might not work so well in clay soils.

Love it!
I received this dibbler as a gift and I could not be happier with it. Some I've seen are very flimsy, but not this one. It is substantial, and I expect to get many years of service from it. There are dibblers out there that are prettier, with copper and such but I think if you want a usable tool, this is the one to get. Stainless steel is easy to clean after each use. I would definitely choose this product.

Hole is not deep enough
I purchased this for planting tulip and daffodil bulbs. This dibbler usually went into the ground easily, especially is the soil is moist from a recent rain. However, IT DOES NOT CREATE A HOLE LARGE ENOUGH FOR A BULB. After making the initial hole, I had to enlarge it with a trowel, thus defeating the simplicity of using this tool. It is sturdy and well-built but I gave up after a few tries.I now use the Radius bulb auger and like that so much I have given it is as gift, too.

How clever
Why cat more gardening tools be this simple. I only wish that they made one big enough for larger bulbs, so much better than the modern cylinder shaped bulb planter where the dirt gets stuck inside and clogs the whole tool up. However, there is nothing to clog on this Victorian dibber, all you have to do is go back behind yourself and fill the hole with fresh soil
