Quilt sampler
There were 60 patterns. 1/3 were easy, 1/3 medium, 1/3 advanced. It would have been better if there were more patterns and less history of blocks.

Nostalgic
Fabulous book with patterns from several decades, and articles about the women who were responsible for picking and preparing the patterns for print. Very interesting articles. Patterns were listed by decade, and had templates for all the patterns. If you are interested in the history of quilts, this is a great book for you.

Exceptional Quilt Pattern Library
This is a great book to have for a sampler quilt or one made of the same design. I will cherish this book and will have to use it well!!

Wonderful combination of history and how-to.
Brackman does it again with wonderfully engaging quilt history focusing on the female designers for the Kansas City Star. Many many patterns are provided with cutting directions for both templates and rotary methods. Great book, must have for those interested in 20th century quilt history.

Great Book
This book has a lot of history and wonderful blocks from the Kansas City Star newspaper. I loved browsing from cover to cover and dreaming of the quilts to come!

If you are a quilter, this is a requirement for your library.
Great book for both the designs and their history. Another great Barbara Brackman book filled with excellant info, pictures and patterns. She never disappoints, and gives the women (and men) that were the foundation of American quilting.

Great book!
I liked that in the digital edition there are links to the pattern so that they can be printed.
