So fun
This Lego set is awesome. For some reason when I bought it the price was $42. I couldn't believe it. Screaming deal. My 6 and 8 year old expert Lego builders had a blast building these and loved bringing them for share to school. The pop up mechanism is so cool and I still don't get how it works. Love that there are two stories you fan switch out. This is by far one of my favorite sets. My younger son usually destroys everything he builds from instructions shortly after, but this one has remained intact! Must be a favorite for him too! Lego is timeless, ageless, and smart fun. We are a Lego family for sure.

My very first Lego build!
I am 68 years old, and have never built a Lego kit before! I am a former math teacher who did use Lego's in the classroom, but never tried a kit. I have peripheral neuropathy, which basically means I can sometimes feeling a tingling or even a numbness in my hands, legs and feet. I figured this might be a good thing as a sort of therapy, I was absolutely right, for once.I had a blast with this kit, the instructions seemed a bit strange at first, with the lack of words, but very easy to get used to. I also found it easiest to work off a PDF version of the instructions, which Lego thoughtfully provides, that way I could make it bigger on my screen while I was working. The assembly went very well. I broke it up over several mornings, so I could enjoy the process, but all together maybe 8-10 hours (didn't really time it), and I enjoyed every minute of it.Now that it's finished I can't wait for my grand kids to visit so they can play with it! I also have a very hard decision to make, which one is next?

Super fun and very cool concept, never seen a lego like this one before!
The media could not be loaded. As with any lego, it's super fun to put together. Very cool concept. All of my friends were surprised by how cool it is. I keep it on my coffee table on the lower shelf and people have actually thought it was a book at first glance. The only thing I would say negative is that when you have the little red riding hood scene set up, the book won't close unless you remove the bed and kitchen area. Other than that, it's great!

exceeded our expectations
our child is well below the 12 year old suggested age, but has really enjoyed this tremendously... loves to come show us his progress with it, much moreso than other builds. The one criticism I would make is that the building of the "book" portion is very prone to mistakes.. ie. all of the dark green pieces. In this case, it would be nice if the documentation did a better job of highlighting the brick boundaries.. ie. thin blank lines on dark green bricks was tough to see.But again, this build has generated great enthusiasm.

Well the product itself is fantastic. But I have to warn collectors, Amazon does not ship LEGOs..
The Lego product itself is fantastic. Adorable tiny figures. Great surprises. Easy to assemble for an adult in a hours time. Not difficult. Very fun and easy. Interchangeable stories. Hopefully LEGO will produce more fairy tale products or finally even make a series dedicated to the 80s film The Neverending Story. Now for the review of the shipping and packaging of the product. Amazon does not take the time to package Lego sets appropriately and securely especially considering how collectors more often than children are buying these products. I had a box of Legos shipped inside a box with a case of soda and completely crushed and tore open the box. No common sense in the packaging and processing of items. A second set was shipped outside of a box and covered in shipping stickers.

I'm NOT Too Old!! Ha!
My first Lego kit (I am 59) and it was amazing. It was fun, challenging to my visual and fine motor skills. I used online instructions so that I could zoom in. That was very helpful. I am awed by the creativity and engineering that goes into a kit like this! I definitely think it takes some patience and focus to build. At one point I could not find one piece, then I stepped on it and was on my way! I can't wait for my next kit to arrive!

I saw this on the lego channel spotlight and I was intrigued! Bought it and made my 7 yr old build it! I am absolutely in love with this set. I am the mom of 2 lego kids, wife to the lego dad... and I'm(secret shhh) huge geeky fan too!
