Roomkaas is literally translated in Cream Cheese, but it is not the spreadable cream cheese we know today. It is a Dutch Gouda-style double-cream cheese, made from cow's milk. This young, Dutch Gouda's creamy buttery taste and semi-soft texture will make it a family favorite. If the cheese is left out of the fridge for a while it is almost spreadable. But whatever the temperature of the cheese, Roomkaas will literally melt in your mouth. It makes a wonderful creamy addition when melted on sandwiches or into casseroles.
