ShoeiCWR-1 Shield with Pinlock Pins Street Motorcycle Helmet Accessories - Dark Smoke/One Size

Shield installs in seconds, and stays super-secured on the helmet. No air leaks. Comes with pin-lock anti-fog screen, but haven't had to use it. No fogging, even in my last down pour. These extras shields are a bit expensive, but this will last a long time. The super dark screen is as good as sunglasses during the day. Even in Texas sun, this is all I need. A bit difficult to use, naturally, in the night time. If I know I'm going to ride past dark, I have to use the clear since this one is too dark for riding at dusk and beyond.

This is awesome. I put it on my helmet this morning, switching out the clear face shield. This is clear and easy to see out of - not too dark. I wasn't riding straight into the sun so I don't know if it's dark enough that you'd need sunglasses in addition to this.Edited: It's now 10 months after the initial review above: The darker visor is great when riding on sunny days, but you will need to also wear sunglasses with it if riding into the sun. There is plenty of room for this in this Shoei RF1200 helmet. I eventually put the clear visor back on since my rides took me into the night hours, and I found this visor too dark for nighttime riding. If riding in town, I can put clear glasses on under the visor and just flip it up, but I often ride on the highway and like the added protection of the closed face shield. On long multi day rides, I take both face shields since the handy pinlock system makes it easy to quickly pop off and switch out.

I was looking online to buy the Shoei Hornet helmet but I wasn't going to buy it unless I could also buy a dark shield for it. One online seller tried to convince me there were only two shields available for the Hornet: clear and smoke. So I was thinking maybe the Hornet was not a good choice. But I called Revzilla and their agent said they had available the dark shield, for only $53. I live in the California desert and I absolutely need a dark, dark shield, and this Shoei shield ratchets down the sun's glare beautifully. So I bought my helmet from Revzilla and also got this shield. I'll just say the shields these days are high quality like Oakley sunglasses. I'm very happy with this product.

Perfectly fits my Shoei RF-1200 helmet and is very easy to install. The dark smoke is great for daytime riding as it greatly reduces the suns blinding rays however as the manufacturer recommends it is not to be used for night time riding as it would be too dark and you would not be able to see imperfections in the road surface as well as other important visual cues. I like the fact as well as when you're out on the street you remain covert as your identity is hidden behind the dark visor.Cobra

My Shoei helmet was five years old. It is recommended to think about replacing helmets when they get that old.I purchased a new bike, so it was time for to follow those recommendations.I really love Shoei so I got a new 1200, so time for new smoked face shield to go with it.Of course, this fits perfectly and is just what I was looking for.I have not had a chance yet to try the pin-lock feature on either this smoked shield or the clear shield that came with the helmet,but I like the concept and look forward to no more misted face shield in colder weather.

I wanted a cool dark visor to replace the dorky looking clear lens the helmet came with, so I bought one of these as only one other no-name company makes an aftermarket visor. I'm glad I got the visor. It's dark enough during the day that you feel comfortable and not squinting but isn't limo dark so people can still slightly see your eyes. During the night it's actually really not that bad either as long as you're not riding a cruiser with a single round headlight from 1920. Your bike will throw enough light to see in the city/suburbs. Rural riding with this lens is NOT recommended.I will say inspect your visor carefully when it arrives as SHOEI has provided TERRIBLE packaging. It literally comes in a super thin plastic see through sleeve with no protection against crush/scratching. For the price of this thing they could have spent $2 on an actual container for it.

I use this for my Shoei helmet RF1200I don’t have to wear sunglasses in my helmet when I have this lens on which is a plus. I live in California and it blocks the sun well. Looks much better on my black helmet than the clear lens that came with it. I definitely recommend if you’re riding in the daylight often. Incredibly easy to pop off with the tabs and switch to a clear lens if I’m riding at night.

This visor is great. Do you want to roll up next to a cop and have him/her only be able to read how freakin cool you are on your bike? Don't want them to be able to see your eyeballs? Get this visor...great in sunny weather, still perfectly usable at night if you throw your high beams on like you should be on that motorcycle, cuz lets be honest; those tweeting teens don't watch out for bikers! Have used this for over 2 years on the same helmet and have NOT been kind to it when wiping off bugs or condensation and it has not scratched to the point of me wanting to throw the helmet down a cliff. Very high quality.

My Shoei RF1200 only came with a clear visor so I ordered this one, VERY happy with the level of tint! Just right in my opinion, dark enough for sunny days yet if you get stuck riding home at dusk you can still see fine.

Works great, easy to snap in, fits perfectly and the vision is clear just like my old one.
