Works great - but works better using wing-nut that can be removed without a wrench
I used this U-Bolt to mount a spare tire on a boat trailer.BUT I did not want to carry an extra wrench to remove the bolts.SO, I ordered 2x "Dorman 41064 Spare Tire Hold-Down Kit" from Amazon -- drilled out their center to 7/16, and welded to them, the 7/16-20 nuts that came with the U-bolt. [The tire hold-down comes with other-sized nuts.]SO NOW, the U-Bolt holds the spare tire, and I can remove the nuts by hand.-- The product, sold as a spare tire mount, worked fine - but would be better if it included a "WINGED LUG NUT" that was an actual LUG NUT vs a regular nut, and WINGED so it could be removed by hand.[one would think there would be an off-shelf soulution like this, but I did not find one.] // awd

Its a U Bolt with standard Nuts - Not Lug Nuts
Description of item is not correction. The product came with standard nuts, NOT Lug Nuts.Definitely a good idea to get a pair of washers to prevent the nuts from getting lodged in or damaging your rim's lug hole pattern. If you are using with a small 8" wheel then plan to place a small block of 2x4 behind the bracket in order to shorten the remaining distance to ensure you do not run out of threaded rod when tightening onto your trailer.

measurements a little off, but good value.
frame end of U-bolt is barely 3 1/4" inside. will not fit 3 1/2"wide frame tube, all other measurements seem to be right on. seems strong, hard to spread [bend] arrived a little under square no biggie. happy with this.

Inexpensive mount for spare tire on your trailer.
Inexpensive way you attach a spare wheel onto your trailer frame.Like the others I added a couple of washers from my garage, as the nuts are not lug nut size and lack a tapered side.Seems sturdy enough for intended purpose and appears to have a coating of electroplate for corrosion resistance.

The ad says it fits up to a 3" x 4" trailer rail with 14" wheel. No, it doesn't.
Description says that it will fit a 3" wide by 4" tall trailer frame rail and up to 15" wheel. That's what I have, but 14" wheel. It doesn't fit. About two threads stick through my standard, new, 14" trailer wheel when I flip it upside down - not enough to hold it on. When I flip the wheel right side up it doesn't reach the wheel bolt holes. Maybe it'll fit if I let the air out of the tire so the wheel would be closer to the frame but a flat spare tire doesn't do much good. It needs to be at least 1" longer on each side to work.Just wasted that money...

Spare Tire Ubolt
I would have given it 5 stars had they included the washers I had to go buy. The nuts appear to look like lugs, see attached, but once received they are just small nuts, see attached. You need washers so you don't chew the lug bolt holes up. You need to change the 2nd image on your part as that is not what you send. thanks, Keith

Budget Spare Time Mount
I normally do not trailer my boat too far from home, but now I needed a low cost way to take a spare tire, easy to mount to the trailer, I locked it down with a chain and included a wheel chock too, I do not plan to keep the spare time mounted after my trip

Works great!
Easy to install, lots of extra threads. I mounted it on 3" square steel with a 12" wheel. I added some lock washers under the included nuts for peace of mind.
