Mr. Dave 2016

While I agree that the dated production detracts a bit, this album has Dave's (IMO) best compositions (other than Call it a Loan, written w. J. Browne), wonderfully arranged and performed (Truly Do, Hurts so Bad, Hands Like a Man, Hearts on Fire, Look Bad Feel Better) and some great covers of obscure but great songs (Pretty Girl Rules the World, Follow Your Heart, Walk to the Sun). BTW, Follow Your Heart, which is mis-credited as Jon Lucien's song of that name, is actually Follow Your Heart by the Manhattans.

While this is a bit "POP-ish", it was the '80's! But, MAN! Is this guy ever talented and a MAESTRO of stringed instruments of every description! Not my favorite album of his, but well worth having in my collection of as much of his music as I can lay my hands on.

David Lindley's version of white reggae/humorgood stuff, as in keeping with his El Rayo X band

Had the cassette of this years ago. Was thrilled to see the reissue. It's like meeting an old lost friend. This is a must own for serious David Lindley fans.

Drum machines have no soul. Programed rhythm parts in this project were a sign of the times when this cd came out. The other albums had traditional rhythm section format and sounded better. I still like Dave's guitar and vocals though.

Dave is the best!

Mr. Dave can do no wrong.

Happy to have this on cd. Not as good as I remembered it, but anything by Mr Dave has a place in my collection.

More polished than his earlier stuff (produced by Linda Ronstadt) but still a great album.
