A family we know got into an accident and their dashcam saved them from a driver who denied crossing the line and hitting them. This encouraged me to get my own dashcam.The Akamate dashcam is perfect for us because it doesnt break the bank. And this dashcame checks all the boxes on what I was looking for. The camera is small so it wont block your vision. I always have a navigation on my dashboard so installing this dashcam behind my rearview mirror is perfect. It comes with a bracket that has a suction cup makes installation easy. The long usb cord makes connecting the cable to any ciggarete lighter plug flexible. The usb plug also has extra usb outlet so you can still charge other devices.The dashcam is easy to use. It comes witha 32G uSD card that you can format in the camera but going to the menu and to the format option. Tested my camera at night and I can see the 1080P resolution makes it very clear. It also had very wide coverage due to the wide angle camera. I have recorded and played back my 1 minute drive around the block with no issue.The dashcam has a lot more features like motion sensor that needs to be set manually.This little, inexpensive device will come in handy during out future drives.

This is a pretty solid dash cam. You get a really good value for the price. The picture quality isn’t that bad either. It’s small enough where it can be concealed pretty well and it even comes with a 32MB microSD card. The card is a generic card so I’m not sure how long it will last, especially with dash cam data that is constantly being recorded over and over again.Best part of the cam is the parking feature. You can have it set to turn on if motion is detected so if a car bumps into it. I imagine it would have to be a large enough bump to sense the motion.All in all, a good value for the price. I’ll report back after using it for a couple of months.Update: This is garbage. The dash cam died after a few months (less than a year). I park in the garage so it’s not heat related. Pure junk.

Just got this camera today. I can't say I'm thrilled so far.I requested it delete two videos, and it told me it did, yet upon plugging the card into my laptop there were those two videos.It offers you to set the time and date and even format. Yet when I see the time and date and changed the format from YY/DD/MM to MM/DD/YY it didn't actually change it at all. And upon the camera being turned off it loses the set date and reverts back to the company default date of December 2018.The audio is a complete wash. It mostly records a fuzz sound. Even with loud music playing you can barely hear it on the playback, but no problem hearing the mysterious buzz sound. That is until it decided to turn audio recording off by itself, as I found out after reviewing the videos and went from buzzing to complete silence.Also hitting the Mode and Play/Stop button caused it to turn off multiple times.There are symbols on the screen but the booklet mentions nothing at all as to what any of them mean. I have one flashing at me, I wish I knew what it was.Honestly I'd say this device is subpar. Perhaps if I found it as a toy in a cracker jack box, or one of those red gum ball machines for a quarter I wouldn't feel so ripped off.I can't help but question the validity of all these other glowing reviews.

Good little camera but it interferes with the car radio signal due to the charger. I had to replace the charger to make the fm signal a little bit better.Don’t use the feature that saves a file due to shaking. It saves files even at the slightest bump on the less sensitive setting. Just leave it on loop recording at one minute intervals and everything will be recorded in case you get in an accident.

The pros about this camera is that it is cheap, it looks cool, and it is very easy to set up. All I had to do was turn it on and it was ready to use. You can mess with the settings to raise the quality of the recording a little bit. The original settings make the quality not good enough to see license plates which is kind of annoying but once you change the settings it gets clearer. It also comes with a 32GB microSD card which made it super convenient. The camera does have some nice features: it has auto turn on turn off function, it has a motion sensor to automatically start recording so if someone hits your car you can get it on camera, it has an accident sensor so if you suddenly brake it will start recording and it also automatically locks certain videos if you set it up that way. It is set up to be upside down so make sure you attach it to the window and not your dashboard. Overall it is pretty good but the video quality definitely can use a little more work. The media could not be loaded. First: the camera is pretty small. The quality is alright, it’s not amazing but for a tiny camera it’s pretty decent! I’ve always wanted a dash cam since I started driving which was a couple months ago, but they prove to be too expensive or just too huge for my car. I drive a little sedan, so anything big is super noticeable- and super ‘stealable’ this one is pretty small and not huge, which is great. It has a bunch of different features on it, like G-Sensor, motion sensor, and looping. A dash cam is really good for new drivers, especially because we are super vulnerable in the first years of driving, and tend to get into more accidents. Protect yourself while driving and get one of these.One thing I don’t like about it is how obnoxiously long the charger is, but that’s really my only complaint. It’s a great item overall! I will check back in a couple of months on how it’s holding up!
