Perfect for steaming veggies
The silicone is much safer than plastic for use in the microwave to steam veggies. It works well.

Why so many dumb reviews on this product 🤔
Okay y’all! So I bought this silicone steamer despite w/ all the answers I got from many people. I decided to take a risk & buy it anyways. Now, I have seen folks saying they it’s only meant for microwave use. Well folks, I am here to tell you they it is also oven safe M&Ms a lot easier to use in the toaster oven. I decided to bake my fish in this gem w/ veggies as well. It turned out excellent, cooked right & it’s hot & moist even being in the oven because usually it gets dried out if not cooked right. It is oven safe up to 445 degrees. I love joe I don’t have to use foil to bake my meal. All I do is put what I am fixin ta have for supper in this silicone steamer, put it in the toaster oven for 400F for 25 mins & it’s all done! Plus, this is very simple to clean. You can wash it w/ soap & water or toss it in the dishwasher (top rack) to clean it thoroughly. Overall, my experience w/ the Nopro 180 silicone steamer is a big hit in my kitchen. I use it everyday & I love it! I give this gem a 5🌟 outta 5🌟. I got it on time, the product itself is great, the insert inside serves a great purpose & I love it. It holds up well for being silicone even though it was in the oven for 25 mins. It helps make the temperature of my meal perfect. Those folks who are hating on this product obviously has never test it to its limits. I love it & I strongly recommend this to any busy person out there!

As advertised
I needed a small steamer that I could use in my microwave and this one worked fantastically.

Very pliable
Great steamer. This steamer is not good on its own need to put it on a plate then food in it . Needs support or you dump your food on the floor. Works great on a plate not on its own.

Perfect steamer!
I dislike using plastic, especially in the microwave. This silicone steamer is safe and the perfect size for single or double servings. I use it almost every day and just bought a second one for my son for his college apartment. I've had mine for years and it looks brand new. Easy to clean. Perfect steamer!

Smaller than I thought
I have been using this almost daily in my house. We are big on steaming frozen vegetables, and wanted a way to make enough for a family of 4. Well, this is not it. This is enough for a single large serving, or two smaller servings (actual serving sizes), but we tend to eat about 6 oz of vegetables per serving, which no matter the vegetable is pretty much the limit for this thing. That compares to about 2.5-3oz per official serving size of most vegetables. We still like it, but we have to take several turns before we have enough for everyone. It has helped us eat better and more vegetables because they are easier to cook now, but I will be looking for something larger for dinner, and still use this one for a quick snack or single serving. My other big gripe is this: Look at the picture of the steamer. Now notice on the sides, the two recesses where you can grasp the insert to remove it. Well, after steaming, since the holes are covered, the steam is shooting out of those spots once you remove the lid, and removing the insert without burning yourself is a challenge. I usually use a fork or spook to start lifting out one side then can safely remove the insert. Draining before emptying is not an option as it is silicone and I don't want to lose my veggies in the sink. Still not a deal breaker quite like the size. Perfect for one, ok for two, dreadful for four.

We use this so often we've had to buy a second one
Otherwise we'd have to wash it three times a day.The only real limitation it has is that its maximum capacity is about two cups (480 ml) - cup and a half (360 ml) for safety. I really thought about giving it a fifth star, and finally did. It works perfectly. That I initially got one that turned out not to be big enough is not the fault of the product, but the purchaser. That small size is sometimes an issue. Cod and salmon fillets don't easily fit into this green one; we bought a larger black one to accommodate them, as well as to have a second available for larger servings of veggies. It works very well for steaming stale bakery goods back to life, and reheating deli stuff, as well.In short, I can't say enough positive things about the concept of a silicon microwaveable steamer. Unlike a rice steamer, it's not necessary to guess the water amount for a short steaming time; just set the desired time on your micro. This little device has even replaced the legendary brown paper bag I used to steam broccoli in.If you are single, this is a great buy. If you cook for two or more, it still might be, but I think you'd be happier with a bigger one. Fortunately, they're available. If they aren't suggested below, search "Orka."Get one. You'll like it.
