Fresh StepExtreme Clay, Non Clumping Cat Litter, Scented, 21 Pounds

I own a pet business and do cat sitting and have come into contact with just about EVERY brand of litter out there through my various clients.For my own kitty, I am hooked on this Fresh Step Extreme. I used to use the World's Best Litter in Lavender. Then one night in a pinch, we needed more litter and the regular store was closed so I popped into the 24-hour CVS and grabbed the last bag of litter they had which happened to be this Fresh Step Extreme.HOLY LIFE CHANGER! OMG! I was completely sold almost right away! (Or at least after the first poo!)This litter is a little dusty when you initially pour in box but after that it kicks up very little dust.And from that point on it is amazing!You have to scoop about 1/2 as much because the crystals absorb the urine so only the solids are left and the smell is practically non-existent! For my 1 adult cat who poops 1-2 medium poos a day, I can easily go a day or 2 without scooping!! In fact, because there is no smell, I forget all about the litter sometimes and go "oops guess I should scoop" but mostly because it's getting visually full, not because it smells.People who come over say they can't even tell we have a cat and there's not that typical cat/litter smell.Sorry if not being a constant pooper-scooper makes me a bad cat owner, but it's kinda freeing not to be a slave to the litter box, especially when I own a pet business and have to scoop all my client's litter, kinda nice to not have to be so burdened with my own anymore!I love the non-clumping aspect as well as litter lasts WAY longer!And because of all that, it's now the ONLY litter I buy and will ever buy!

I have had cats for the past 37 years. I started using Fresh Step as soon as it became available, sometime back around 2010 or so. I prefer the clay litter to the scoopable. I use less litter and have to change it less frequently due to the charcoal and baking soda ingredients. This stuff is fantastic! I will never use another brand of litter again, and I expect to have cats in my house as long as I'm alive. I honestly believe this is the best litter on the market! As always with Amazon Prime, you pay more to have it delivered to your door in 2 days, but for me, the added price is worth it on this one since I am unable to pick up the larger bags. The delivery driver is always so sweet as to knock on the door and wait for us to answer when he delivers heavy packages. He always brings them in for us, for which my back, neck, shoulders, and knees are extremely grateful!

I was initially disappointed that the litter was non-clumping, but that's my fault for not carefully reading the description before buying. That being said, this is by far the best non-clumping litter I have ever used. Very good at odor masking (night and day compared to the brand in the yellow bag), and I have noticed way less litter being tracked out the box and through my house!! The granules are larger and more irregular in shape than the uniform, fine grains of clumping litter, so they don't get stuck between the cat's toes. I find that I use roughly the same amount of litter as the clumping variety, and I am fairly heavy handed with my scooping. Even though the litter doesn't clump with urine, I can pretty easily scoop out most of the urine because the larger granules of clay don't easily fall through the sifter scooper. I haven't decided yet whether to continue purchasing this or go back to my usual Fresh Step clumping litter.

This is NON-CLUMPING cat litter. If that's your preference, this is the best I have used. Every vet I have talked to has recommended non-clumping cat litter for cats for health reasons, so the great experiment began. This litter won, hands down. It is non-scented itself, but also captures the scent of the waste quite well. The odor doesn't extend more than a couple of feet from the litter box, somehow. The clumping ones certainly do a better job, but for non-clumping, this does a fantastic job.My only complaint is the bag is awful to open. You need some sort of knife or scissors. I wish it had a tool-free way to open it.

the product is excellent and the price is more than fair.The only reason it's only getting 4 stars instead of 5 is that they limit the quantity one can buy at once.I live alone, mind you , I don't have a car, so going out to get the litterbox for my cat is tedious and sometimes hard, since it can be a fairly heavy item to transport it on foot, even if it's just a couple of blocks. I thought I'd order three bags and be ok for almost a month and they told me I'd gone over their limit. What was I going to do with 3 bags? resell it? that's certainly an alarming quantity * sarcastic tone*

I bought this thinking it was the same type of kitty litter I had been using for my cat, but it ended up being different (and better!). Compared to the last type we were using (also Fresh Step), this stuff is amazing. It cuts down any smell by probably 90%. We used to know exactly when my cat went to the bathroom simply by smell, even though the litter box was in a different room. Now, nothing. I can't believe we had settled for anything else before. Also, this cuts down on the amount of litter tracked out of the box quite a bit, which is awesome. Overall, a great product, highly recommended. This is a great price, too.

The scent is obnoxious - floral and synthetic and you may wish that the stuff had been packaged in individual bags as the box is heavy and hard to store because of that and because unless you live Ina large place you will smell that awful floral scent. Your cat too will stink of cheap glowets

I like non -clumping and the clean smell

Unhappy with product as it is very messy. Not worth the money.
