Is it brittle?
I've used Hatchbox for a couple of years now and love the results. This one, however; the silk silver PLA might just be more brittle than the other colors. I'm still making this 5 stars, but if you have a model with a small "neck" it might be more brittle than other colors (both black and white Hatchbox filament have been workhorses for me). I could not get a particular piece to print with any strength in this filament when compared to the black or white, even after 5 tries with different printer settings. It just broke when in use.Printer: Creality CR-10 SmartTemps 200/60 C (same as for both the black and white)I would love to hear from you about adjustments to the settings that will make this filament work as well for strength as the other colors.Thank you for reading this review, and thanks for commenting. Cute color
I can get this filament to print really well, even better then plain white sometimes. Just be aware that the shimmery quality of the filament means you're gonna see every single bump and scuff. The way it catches light reminds me of pulled taffy, very shiny. It also has a bit of a transparent quality to it, with a regular 2mm wall thickness I can just make out the infill pattern inside.

Prints well at 220/65 in my garage
I was having problems with eSun matte black, and I loaded this pink to see if it was me or the filament. Well, this pink prints really well. Layers nicely, has a nice color and isn't too fussy.

Dial in your filament and send it
I bought this to print a mondoshawan figure (from the fifth element). I found it very easy to work with. It handles overhangs fairly well, minimal stringing, and you can get a different shine depending on how hot you print it. I've run through half the spool and have not encountered any clogs. I run all my prints through a temp tower test before printing. If I'm finding challenges with overhangs or stringing I will run retraction tower tests and overhang tests but neither were a problem for this filament and my default pla settings. My printer liked 100% fan, 210 hotend temp, 60 bed temp & open enclosure (printing with a creality cr-200b that is stock aside from a capricorn tube & single 5015 blower fan). Anything from 200-220c worked well enough but 210 was the sweet spot for me. I enjoyed working with it so much I ordered the same filament in gold to try next.

The best around
Hatchbox is hands down the best FDM 3d print filament you'll ever buy. At first I tried buying alternative brands do save the $5 or $10 difference in price but everything else failed me. I experienced constant snapping, adhesion issues, warping, etc ... with other brands but not Hatchbox. I've purchased three rolls all different colors and each one runs just as smoothly as the last. I know occasionally people will recieve a roll from a bad batch of fillament, but even then Hatchbox customer service is very kind in issuing replacements for unsatisfactory fillament (as long as you don't use 1/2 the roll before contacting them ;) ) Of the three colors ive used (black, silver, and light blue) light blue is my favorite. It has the best color contrast when painting it because I primarily use my printer for D&D miniatures. There's nothing else I can really say about this fillament aside from you should choose Hatchbox everytime for consistent perfection.

Silk PLA can be tricky, but loved the results
I was able to use this for both mechanical models as well as stationary ones.

Love this filament
Of the 3 filaments of tried so far this is my absolute favorite. It just prints darn good! This filament has made my beginner 3d printing experience a breeze. I think it’s almost cheating. The other 2 filaments I’ve had where not pleasant. Hatchbox will always be my number one choice for PLA.

No recomendado

Probably my favorite filament! Easy to work with, looks amazing!
I love the Hatchbox Silk Filaments, have printed through a few rolls now. Absolutely love this Bronze stuff, looks simply fantastic. Haven't noticed any real differences between this and the Mint colour in terms of how they print. I am using an Ender 3 Pro with stock mk8 hotend, Bullseye cooler. Using Cura to slice. 210 degrees for the extruder, 65 for the bed initially but I let it drop to 55. Brim for smaller pieces, but minimal supports required. Prints real nice. I have had fantastic results. No issues at all. Various layer heights work good, but 0.10 is almost totally smooth. Bit nicer finish than regular PLA. If you want show-room quality prints, a bit of sanding and some glossy clearcoat (rustoleum or krylon fusion) can create an amazing finish.Filament feeds smooth, came well packaged, and seems great quality. I haven't had any issues at all, love working with this stuff. Always looks great, haven't been disappointed yet!

A disappointment
I received this filament just recently and I noticed that the spool looks like under 1 kg compared to my other hatchbox filament. First time I print using this, I noticed that the infill was crumbly. So I thought maybe I need to increase the heat on nozzle. Still halfway to my printing It started getting crumbly again. I think this batch is old and used. I would like to return it.

Looks really nice
This blue silk PLA is rather gorgeous when printed, but there are definitely some challenges to getting it dialed in. It's also not particularly well-suited to objects requiring significant infill, due to its semi-translucent nature: the fill lines contrast negatively with the silky exterior texture.Good quality product, but not a good choice for general-purpose use.
