Slots Conquest: How to Beat the Slot Machines!

Glad I Read This Book - Dispells The Myths, And At Least Tries to Explain An "Edge" Over Slots....
Frank Scoblete wrote a very honest "slot players handbook" with this piece of work. At times in my slot play at several casino's in Reno, Nevada... I thought I had a system, by looking for what Frank calls "Advantage Slots"... I knew that machines could get hot, if enough money was dumped into it, particularly on a weekend or holiday. As the casino director of gambling at the Atlantis told me "...each machine is based on how much goes in, goes out.... That is usually at 97%... That is why you see someone playing a machine and it is just taking money, then someone else plays it and it hits the jackpot!'... I like how Frank talks about the higher denomination advantage, basically playing machines with higher denominations for better edge over the casino... It's just that here in Reno, Nevada, the majority of machines in all the casinos are penny video slots... Very few dollar machines, and even fewer quarter machines... The particular games that Frank talks about as being "advantage machines", I have not seen in Reno... Nevertheless, Frank is a professional gambler and writer and I respect his opinion... Lastly, Frank tells the honest truth! "get away from progressives!" The odds are stacked way too high to come out ahead! And for the real kicker about this book, why I like it and also why I don't love it... Frank writes a chapter in this book titled "401G" like a 401K retirement investment, you have a gambling investment 401G - a bank account for slot play. And his theory is as you grow the account more and more, you can afford to increase the denominations in which you gamble, stating "If you have $60,000 built up, you can afford to gamble $5 a spin"... Sounded nice and dandy to me, it is what I wanted to read, that slot play can become truly an investment... However on another chapter Frank basically dispels the myth of this 401G, he writes "...is it possible for a player to be ahead on his or her slot-playing career? Yes, it's a dim---a very, very dim---possibility. Those who have hit a monstrous jackpot on those progressive machines such as Megabucks can finish their slot-playing lives ahead of the house. But such winners are a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent. I am pretty sure these winners won't include you and me." And that Is the reason why I don't love this book... If I did love it, I would hate it later on because it would have been bulls*** if Frank said slot gambling could be lucrative activity... Why I like this book, is Frank tells the truth. Slot gambling will ultimately take a toll on you... I consider myself a person who knows "advantage slot play/machines" as Frank calls it... But the truth is in my short one and a half year "slot-playing career", mostly at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, as I was told by a VIP host, I have bet over $40,000 dollars on slots, yet my win/loss is less than $1500 in the negative... I guess you could call it a win... And I guess, if I get the prime rib buffet free every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - I could eat those losses back... Not to likely, the executives just took away that benefit... And, with the help of this book in shattering my delusions, I am retiring from my slot playing career... Maybe this book should have been titled "Slots Dilemma" or "Slots Disappointment", but then no one would have read the book...

good luck finding them
I have been to AC and Las Vegas as well as local Casinos. I have yet to find find one of these advantage play machines on the floor. The info is good but it has all been said before. Not your typical Scoblete book. If you can find one of these machines in a positive mode than you might be able to pay for this book with the knowledge you gained from reading it, otherwise it will just be due to luck like the other slot players. The title is a little overstated compared to the content, disappointing compared to his other books.

Information Free on Web + Outdated
First, I have never written a negative review about any product I've bought from Amazon. Second, since I am a fan of his writings I never expected the first negative review would be about a book written by Scoblete. Well, there's a first time for just about everything and I guess this is it.This "Conquest" book is 80% rehashed Random Number Generator (which doesn't exist) to material any semi-literate person could find on the Web for free. That pretty much tells you the entire contents of this book so save your money and do a search on advantage player slot machines and you'll get all of this information back in less than a second on a good search engine.

Not very
Did not have much information that I thought would be useful to me personally. The machines that were talked about were not ones that I have ever seen in my limited experience. Funny but not very helpful.

Fun to read
Fun to read. As an experienced slot play, it didn't have much information I didn't already have. But, if you are new to playing slots, this will be of value. Overall, a worthwhile purchase.

Now I know
This handy guide disclosed a few secrets but mainly told me things that I had already figured out. Note: I did win $1,200 on a slot machine labled "HOT" ignoring the authors advice.

Book has helpful information but no godsend on winning on slot machines.
The slot machines that he talks about that you can win at are not found in most casinos. You might find 1 or 2. There is some interesting facts about how slots work and how you are paid at a different rates for penny, nickel, quarter and dollar machines.
