DW Access Panel Elmdor Drywall Access 16" x 24"

We needed to provide access to address second floor plumbing from below through our first floor ceiling. This panel was a perfect size for the job. The panel is sturdy and opens easily and closes firmly. The white primer finish actually looks good as is -- and will provide a fine base for painting whenever the ceiling is eventually painted. The product was delivered 2 days ahead of the original projection which was a bonus I would definitely recommend.

Looked ok until I noticed the door wouldn't close and was misaligned...no problem. I thought once I out it in place I can make adjustments. Just spent a good 2 hours of working with this crap. The problem is the door is a separate sheet of metal on a hinge, fixed to the metal frame and is cut wrong so not matter what you do, that door closes with a huge gap in the bottom. Bottom line, I either was unlucky with this one, or these people who do the machining are idiots. I never write reviews. the gap is so big that I cant use this thing. Now I have a huge square hole in my wall. If this is made in the US, shame on you, if it's Chinese, it makes a lot of sense.

Bought this for a remodel where we had to cut out the wall for Plumbing in our rental house. Instead of putting drywall back, we added this utility door for future use. It was easy to install! Looks professional. Not a terrible eyesore and makes it easier for any future Repairs.

These are being manufactured so they don't close and then sent to customers. When the customer calls, no one calls back to resolve the issue. It is impossible to inspect a square frame with a lid that is supposed to fit into the frame and see that it cannot, and then say it passes inspection and should be pushed onto a customer.

Did the job it was meant to do. Good value
