War Chest

I am not a big fan of abstract games, but this one is different! Recommend it for all people except who hate abstract games (this isn’t a pure abstract game anyway).

The game has great strategic depth and high production values. Mostly.The bags and board are such high quality, and the chips suitably weighty. The symbols on the chips are similarly high quality and the whole thing seems suitably durable. It's a minor inconvenience that the box lid wraps around so takes up much more space than necessary to get out, and there's no room in the box for fingers to get in and take out the trays that house the chips. Worthy of note is that the box is really dense, thanks to the weighted chips, but I consider that an entirely reasonable price to pay. Speaking on the subject of price, the game's excellent value for money. My only real complaint is that one of the 2 supplied chip trays had a broken base. Fortunately, I'd also ordered the expansions, which had similar problems with a further lid and base. This demonstrates that the base and lids are consistently poor, in contract to everything else about this product. Fortunately, the expansions fit into the second full tray I was able to pull together from unbroken components.The rule book is solid, the cards are well written, with clear diagrams illustrating their behaviours. Excellent game.

The game is good fun. But the game box arrived in poor state. Certainly didn't look like a brand new game.

This is a great game for adults and kids alike. 2-4 player is available but 4 player is the way to go. The poker chip style pieces are amazing and heavy duty, they give the game the much more tactile feel. The rules are very well balanced and while easy to play, every game requires new strategy due to the card distribution for each draw. I also think it’s great for kids to get introduced to war gaming and prepares them for Undaunted, arguably the best war game ever made. Took this on a business trip for 2 weeks and we played constantly. Buy it now!

I bought it because my boyfriend wanted it. I didn’t think I would like it that much, but I love it. One of the best we have (we have around 10 in total).

Fun game but it was dented. You can say, well the game was alright, and that's what matters and youi'd be right. But I bought a 'new' game and not a used game. So I expect it to be 100% ok.

War Chest es un excelente juego de guerra con bag building, la asimetría esta dada por las cartas de unidades de ejercito que se reparten al inicio. Los componentes son de muy buena calidad, y la rejugabilidad es muy alta pues incluso incluye escenarios de batallas históricas. Si lo tuyo son los juegos abstractos, War Chest puede convertirse en uno de tus favoritos.Aunque indica que es de 2-4 jugadores en mi opinión el mejor número es a 2, pues cuando son 4 se juega en equipos de 2vs2.
