Classic Lil Rob
I bought this cd after getting 1218 Pt.2 and I have to admit that I like Pt.2 much better. I bought this cd mainly for Summer Nights, which is probably one of LR's most bangin' tracks. The downfall to this cd is the lack of creativity that went into the production. I like the cd as a whole but at least half of the tracks are knockoff's of other popular "radio" songs. The lack of production creativity is what seperates Pt.1 from Pt.2 - this cd echos G-unit, Lil' Flip and others big time - I notice this to be an issue with many latino rappers, at least on some of the older cd's,...it seems to have died down a lot on anything produced from '08 to present.Overall the cd is good but not great - LR has a pretty basic rap style with very simple lyrical content. I like it because it represents the West Coast & Lowriding. This cd is like a good oldie - it's something simple that you can slap in your ride and just cruise to.

LIL ROB WENT RADIO PLAY!!!
Yes Lil Rob has lived his dream to be the most talented chicano rapper in the past!!! Lil Rob went radio play why??? I guess he just got tired of being an underground rapper. You got to addmit Lil Rob has been a rapper for a long time now and he's good at what he does but apearintly not good enough since now he's gone radio play. I think he was just looking for the more (50 Cent Jay Z Lil Flip) kind of rap. In a way it's cool because thats what everybody seems to like right now but for Lil Rob to go and try to start rapping like them using beats like them what??? do you want to be more popular Lil Rob is that it??? I think this cd is really chingon as for the fact that as a radio play album it cant get no better then this because this album be perfect radio play material. I gave this album a 5 star rating cause it to me is one of the best radio play albums out there right now but still the fact of it is Lil Rob is not a radio play rapper he's a chicano gangster hard core rapper thats what he is. Look at (Crazy Life, Natural High, Still Smokin, Cant Keep A Good Man Down, The Album). After (The Album) thats when the first changes were happening now this!!! I addmit (Summer Nights, Saw You On The Dance Floor) these are chingon songs but the rest of this album is to mellow good to dance to but not the same hardcore rap like he used to do, he's definitly going through changes when it comes to his rap I just don't get the same feeling about his rap like I use to. Look at it this way you like all those radio play rappers then you will love this album but if you remember the way Lil Rob once was and liked him that way this might be a dissapointment for you because in a way it was for me only because I always idolized Lil Rob even though he never got played on the radio I liked his rap it was firme, chingon, hardcore, chicano rap I felt like he rised above all those radio play rappers he had the true talent and the radio proves it because if you notice you look at some of the rapprs on the radio you will notice they have nothing really bad to say it's all happy lets party kinda rap no swearing hardly no nothing like that. This is why Lil Rob never got played on the radio because of the fact that he was totally opposite of what they allowed to be played (no swearing, no bad talk) thats what they wanted. Lil Rob on the other hand had all this bad hardcore gangster stuff to say. Thats why people liked him so much he spoke his mind said whatever he wanted. I liked him for that veary reason and I hope he goes back to how he was because now he's already got people dissin him giving him a 1 to 3 stars and that aint good because he's better then that. Theres a reason for this though he went kinda soft he's just not hardcore anymore. I think in the long run he's messing it up for himself because people want to hear the more hardcore rap from him not this dance rap it's just not his style. Who cares if they play his rap on the radio that shows how hardcore he is but now that they be playing it on the radio that shows he's gotton soft and hate to say it he's weakened. It could just be the fact that he just cant come up with the rymes for that true hardcore gangster rap anymore. Chingon album like I said but not the same. all I can say now is Lil Rob I love you still and your new album but nothing can compare to the old ones you have made and I think you are still the #1 chicano rapper out there but you should really think about what you are doing as far as changing your rap style because alot of fans of yours still like what they remember of you. Now yo rap is tip top. Yo beats Are to hip hop. Yo sick gangsta lyrics stoped. I think you should continue rappin like the old stuff you droped. Yo gotta keep puttin it down for the brown don't go radio play like these other clowns. Cause I thought you were true chicano gangsta style on yo side of town. The altimate homie g you will always be. These fools be doggs with the d o double g. They aint got nothin on you homie. Show them how proud you be. How they be rappin that crap don't do that. Go beyond that radio play rap. Show them you can rise above that.

LIL ROB'S BACK IN THE STREETS WITH SOME REAL HOOD MUSIC
Over the course of several years,Lil Rob has incomparably established himself in the genre of Chicano Rap. He has carved out inarguable street credibility as a hardcore Mexican gangster rapper from San Diego. He had samples, beats, and rhymes, which were equally clever, audacious, funky, and intricately woven together. After such classic albums as "Crazy Life","The Album",and "Neighborhood Music",Lil Rob is taking a decidedly more commercial approach on his 2005 release entitled,"Twelve Eighteen,Part 1". Despite the fact that Lil Rob has put out a consciously more marketable record,he still retains close ties to his Latino roots. He is not abandoning his title as one of the most prolific and eminent personalities in the underground Chicano Rap outlet. Even though a lot of people have been criticizing Lil Rob for an apparent switch in his sound & style,Lil Rob remains the same down-for-the-brown homie drinking on his driveway. While admittedly he has softened the edge on his gangbanging image from his "Crazy Life" days,he still is keeping his music as real as it comes. Lil Rob is simply taking a step foward, and he is definitely advancing his craft as an authentic artist each year he drops a new album. While he is moving in a mainstream direction, the music he produces on this collective and cohesive effort is undeniably infectious and it exudes the charismatic presence of Lil Rob. It shows you that Lil Rob dedicated all of his energy and creativity to this project, and that's what a real artist does. Throughout all the years Lil Rob has been on the scene,he has always proven himself as a veritable musical force with his idiosyncratic style and his ability to release consecutively excellent records. On Twelve Eighteen,Part 1,Lil Rob makes hook-laden music that blends feel-good vibes,room-shaking,vibrating Bass, nostalgic Oldies Grooves,Chicano attitude, and Contemporary Hip-Hop overtones. Lil Rob successfully attempts to stay in touch with the times with his witty rap delivery and the brilliant production techniques of Fingazz and Moox. On uncharacteristically well-crafted songs such as "My Turn,"Summer Nights",Back In The Streets","Superbad","Bring Out The Freak In You",No Future In It",and "Representing",Lil Rob demonstrates his narrative skills, and his opinionated and pensive lyrics about topics ranging from hard times in the Varrio to getting nasty and freaky between the sheets. Also,Lil Rob's unmistakable voice, articulate, gliding flow, and the savvy,street-minded beats courtesy of Moox and Fingazz are all essential in making this album one fulfilling listening experience that you won't forget anytime soon. This CD is packed with tight jams from top to bottom,so it is recommended for all fans of CHICANO RAP AND LIL ROB. GO OUT AND PURCHASE THIS RECORD TODAY,AND ALWAYS SUPPORT LIL ROB'S MUSIC AND CHICANO RAP TO THE FULLEST. STAY DOWN FOR THE BROWN,AND LET'S TAKE THE CHICANO SOUND OF LIL ROB TO THE TOP WHERE IT BELONGS.
