Blower works great, kit completeness falls a bit short.
This fan kit is a pretty good value, but it's missing a few things to make it a really great kit. The fan is fairly quiet and works well to push air into the rear of the Monessen Fireplace we have. The downside is, the fan kit includes no facilities to actually mount this to the fireplace. Most other kits seem to include double sided tape, magnets or velcro to get this installed. I had some industrial double sided tape on hand, so I was able to get it fixed in the bottom of our fireplace box without too much hassle. Also worth noting, the wiring "harness" for lack of better term is not nearly long enough to properly mount the thermoswitch (which turns the fan on and off automatically with the fireplace). On our firebox, and many direct vent boxes, the bottom of the fireplace (which is the only place you can mount the switch with the short wires) will never get hot enough to activate the switch. I opted to run the fan manually, but to get it working with the included switch, you'll need some additional TGGT or Similar High-Heat wire, plus some terminals and a crimper.Overall, It works in my fireplace and definitely improves the efficiency -- helping move heat out of the rear of the box where it usually gets wasted. But I'd recommend a better thought out kit for a few more dollars if you're looking for a fully-turn key solution without the need to hunt down mounting tape, longer wires, and crimp terminals.

Great item, Works very well
I have had this for a few months now and it is working great. We needed this to help disperse fireplace heat throughout the living room.Ease of install probably depends on where you are putting it, but it just took 2 self-tapping screws to put it in the back of my ventless fireplace and plugging it in.The thermostat switch works great. It turns on and off when the temp gets to a certain level. The fan speed worked well, but we don't use it. We just leave it on high. In the highest setting, it is kind of noisy but it puts out the heat and it turns in to white noise in a few minutes so its not a problem at all.

Great quiet natural gas fireplace fan at a good price
Pretty easy to install, but it would be easier if it came with double sided Velcro tape ideally with a bit of foam to insulate it. I had some and it makes the fan very quiet as there is no metal on metal. Excellent price and as effective as any other. Variable speed control is very effective from very slow and quiet to full speed with some noise. Plug and connectors made assembly very easy

If you have a gas fireplace that heats passively, aka no fan. You need this!!
My oh my!!! I've lived here 13 years and I looked but never installed one of these squirrel cage fans. I was dumb! You can make your gas fireplace heat your home if it's like the above photo. The kind with a glass front, air intake at the bottom and air exhaust at the top with an electric outlet inside of the air intake area. You'll get a very efficient heater that's much more than ascetically pleasing. It arrived this morning and 15 minutes later it's on and working great. Not much fan noise. I have the fan velocity at midrange so that it's just comfy. Our home has 30ft ceilings and it still manages to keep the central part of the house quite warm.

moves a decent amount of air
Blower was easy to hook up in my situation. Seems to blow a decent amount of air into the room. My negatives are that there is no rubber padding or sound isolation material that comes with the blower. I did use heavy duty padded two sided tape in an attempt to keep fan from creating vibration noise on the gas fireplace metal housing, but I still can not have fan up on the fastest speed due to the vibration noise created. But on medium to medium-high, blower sound is reasonable .

Works but its loud.
Fan works like it should. It didn't come with mounting velcro but not a deal breaker. Easy to install but louder than I would prefer.
