Great board game, fairly costly but after having it about 2 months and playing it several times i'm glad i made the investment, it has provided many hours of entertainment. Having only played classic risk, and some axis & allies in the past i almost had to relearn the game from scratch, this version is incredibly intricate with so many different ways to win. Ive not yet managed to play with 6-7 people but looking forward to the day!TIP: if buying card protectors to go with it, go for medium sized ones and make sure to get enough, there are just shy of 200 cards in the deluxe version and most protectors come in packs of 100.

Although the set is great visually, the quality of some items is very low, as cards for example which are very cheap and easy to bend and get marked. Also the plastic miniatures aren't very high quality.The Maps are nice, not very well thought as concerning the distribution of bonus reinforcement per region and connections in the centre of the map, but visually very appealing.There are printing errors in the manual and in some chips, and it seems that have been there since the first edition and never revised (..just why Hasbro?). The rules for the conquest game are unclear on many issues such as numbers of cards that a player is allowed to hold. Some cards abilities are open to interpretation and confusing,Overall the visual effect of the game is great, but the game itself is not too much fun in the end, unless you heavily change the rules, for inexperienced players I'd suggest the LOTR edition or Europe.

Bought Deluxe game for my daughter and son-in-law as they are big fans of Game of Thrones (and I am a big fan of the original Risk game). This is a brilliant game although some of the names are a little difficult to read due to the colour of the maps, but if you dont mind that I highly recommend. So far we have had four family games nights with this game and have been up until 3am lol. We have played with just 3 of us and have recently played with 6 of us. The game is well made. Board is thick and sturdy and pieces are strong. Cards are good quality but I did buy card protector sleeves, which I would recommend) just to look after the cards. They protect the cards and are well worth it. I bought Ultra pro sleeves (clear). This game is brilliant and easy to learn. I would highly recommend. Be prepared for hours of fun and battle.

I must admit I wasn’t sure about getting this game from amazon especially as I was after the Deluxe version and there were so many bad reviews saying they received the skirmish version or it was badly printed. But after shopping around and it either being out of stock or £101.00 at game.com, I did my research on the returns policy (just in case) and thought what the hell, why not! I’m so glad I did because I got exactly what I wanted.When it arrived I was sure there would be something wrong with it but I counted each piece and card and it’s all there and well made!The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was because the corners of the game box were a little worn but I think (considering how it was packed in the box) this happened during the delivery process more than the manufacture.I’ve really enjoyed the game so far but am still getting to grips with it as I’ve only played the original risk game once before. I wish there were more pieces with each army but I’m guessing there is a reason for the limit.Would recommend this but would also strongly advise you check what you are adding to your basket and then check again at checkout to make sure you are getting the one that you want to avoid getting the skirmish version or a used version as it’s easily to click on the wrong one!

I got the special edition was worried about recieving the skirmish but i didnt got the special one.. arrived perfectly no corners damaged or anything. The special edition arrivea woth skirmish and the advanced boards. So if ur a new player there is a easier to learn version :)
