Easy to install despite the metric instructions
Very easy to install. I screwed a piece of 1x4 oak to the studs and then mounted the rail on the backer. Two things I wish I had known/done beforehand:1) The doors need to have a 1/4" dado cut in the bottom of them so they can slide on the floor channel that comes with the kit. This prevents the door from swinging forward away from the wall and falling off the track. Not an issue to do after the installation, but it would've been nice to realize it before finishing the doors. My fault though, it is in the instructions to do so.2) I wish I had predrilled the holes in the oak backer before I mounted it to the wall. Would've saved some stress. One tip, when installing the rollers on the doors, instead of measuring for the holes, stand the door up on a piece of 1x stock and put the roller on the bar. Center the roller on the door stile and drill the holes (3/8" bit, it says 10mm) while the door is standing up. You'll end up with a 3/4 gap under the door and perfectly placed holes.

Super Nice Product - Five Stars People - This is not junk
Updated: 10/7/2019Ok, I finished installation and all went well with the following exception:1. The lag bolts that fasten the rail and spacer to the wall / header plate are very brittle and will break unless you are careful.2. You must pre-drill the holes first, I used a .21 inch drill bit.3. As added measure I lubricated the hole by using a syringe filled with dish soap.4. Be extra careful if using an impact wrench to drive the lag bolts.5. You may wish to hand tighten them after driving lag bolts snug.Original Posting:Rarely do I purchase something and it impresses me. I ordered an 18ft kit, and absolutely thrilled with what I received.1. The shipment was packed in a box with a Nylon Sock on the outside, the Nylon sock was so nice I didn't have the heart to cut the outside Nylon Wrapper, I spent 15 minutes carefully removing the shipping tape from the outside cover. I have never received anything with a wrapper like this. Excellent!2. Every piece was accounted for and packed in plastic zip bags.3. I had zero shipping damage, but I suspect that Nylon bag wrapped would have protected the package had it been sent around the world 5 times.Anyone who complains about bad instructions, I would say:1. If you need instructions to install this hardware, you should not be doing it. Get someone to help you.2. Installing any door like this takes some thinking to get it right, and impossible to explain in instructions as everyone has a different installation constraints and needs.3. I do like the way the 3 rails are attached via four Screws using a nicely designed bracket. I was going to buy my own 18 ft rail and drill it, but after seeing a picture of the connectors I thought it would be fine as is.People, this is a really nice product, I'm going to use mine outdoors. I think it will be fine out there. It seems that even the roller itself has an actual bearing inside. This should slide nicely on that rail. One last thing, the kit also includes a lower door guide that is supposed to fit inside the bottom of the door. Which would require you to router or cut a slot in the bottom of the door itself. This will require some serious cutting to get a slot cut in the bottom of the door. There are other ways of keeping the bottom of the door in place and I plan to use a few lower brackets that you can order online here that just wrap around the bottom of the door. Some have rollers, some are adjustable, some are fixed in size. I'm going to install the door and then figure out how to keep the bottom of the door from moving.Since I am building a custom sized door to fit the Hardware kit, it's impossible for the kit not to work. I have a 3D model I created using Sketchup drawing program. So I've already done the installation virtually.-Good Luck

... working quite well but the installation was not as easy as you would expect
The product ended up working quite well but the installation was not as easy as you would expect. For starters, the 8 ft. rod that the rollers slide on is actually two four feet rods and the ends that go together have a half circle cutout in them so that when you butt them up to each other, then they form the "hole" that you put the support bolt through. The remaining holes are set at an odd spacing. They are not set for studs at 16" or 24" on center. I ended up having to drill my own holes, and plugging the pre-drilled ones for support after I got out past the header over the opening. The quality of the materials is excellent. The roller mechanisms are very solid and quiet. A good product for the price.

Perfect for my project
I ordered two sets to hold two barn doors for a large entertainment center that we built. These are holding those large heavy doors very nicely. My package didn't come with instructions. I was however able to YouTube how to hang barn doors and was able to figure out what went where. My only complaint is the lack of instructions. BUT since I saved so much money by buying these from Amazon instead of my local retailer, I didn't mind the lack of instructions. If I ever need this hardware again, I would without hesitation buy these again.

Cheap but good for home use.
The rollers are good, but the rest of the hardware is kinda cheap. I didn’t even use the lag bolts because they felt weak and I didn’t feel like they went deep enough into the header.

Excellent quality!
We bought this Barn Door Rail System for our master bedroom and it was more than expected! It came in a timely manner, and the quality was excellent! These doors glide so smoothly, you hardly know they're moving. The only, and I mean ONLY, drawback was that the instructions were so small ,that they were hard to read. We don't have young eyes anymore, so that was a little bit of an issue. We have another door to put up for our closet, and you can believe that we will be purchasing another Barn Door Rail System from this company. We are very pleased!

Great product
Great hardware at a very good price!! It's sturdy; able to hold heavy doors; and attractive. The only thing, that was difficult, were the bolts that go into the doors. They were not adjustable and were made for a VERY wide door! We had to cut them with a hacksaw to make them shorter. Then, they were fine. They need to be adjustable because everyone's doors are going to be a different width.

It's ok if you can follow poor directions and have some fixit skills.
Exactly what I wanted. I had some bifold closet doors that I repurposed and only needed the hardware to complete my wife's project. This was perfect. Discounted one star because the LONG cardboard shipping box was pretty shredded before or arrived. Packaging could stand some reinforcement. Also, the last step was dumb saying I should take a chainsaw and cut a 10mm groove along the bottom of my doors for the door guide. Not practical. I added a dado'ed board to the bottom.

Very good quality Hardware kit
Excellent quality hardware kit. Installation instructions are pretty decent for anyone that is a little bit handy. The single 1 piece track makes this very stable and easy to install. The only complaint I have, is the bolts used to mount the hangers to the door, are too long for a 1 3/8” door, which the specifications say the kit will work for. Yes, it does, but, you will have to cut the length of the bolts shorter for this to work. Cutting bolts and preserving the threads may be tricky for some people without the proper tools. Fortunately, I have everything I needed. They could supply some shorter bolts, or maybe some spacers for the back side, which might make it work without cutting the bolts. however, a person would have to check for interference on any trim around the door opening. Perhaps the spacer could go on the front side without looking horrible as well.*note, the door handle in this picture, is not included in the kit, this was a separate purchase.

Solid parts
Quality parts. Not easy to assemble, but not hard. The door that it connects to needs to be a specific thickness, which seems like a design flaw, or at least something that a buyer should be mindful of. I built a door and then needed to jury-rig it a little in order to attach the door. Now that it’s installed my wife is happy, which is what matters

Good product
We built oversized barn doors and these tracks extended to the 9 ft we needed. Easy to install and good heavy gauge parts.
